AutoZone Corporate Office Comments

I have to share our great experience with the store manager Wayne Bawden. My husband and I were traveling from Tucson Az to Augusta Ga pulling a 46' 5th wheel when our AC in the truck stopped blowing cold air. It felt like a 100°+ inside our truck. I have some health issues and I was beginning to get sick. I googled the nearest Autozone and thankfully GPS led us to the Autozone in Sweetwater Texas and we were happily helped by Wayne. My husband knows the basics around an ac unit in vehicles but a newer truck was bit more challenging. Wayne came outside and actually added refrigerant himself while explaining what he was doing. He brought me a bottle of cold water because the heat was taking a toll me. Within minutes the truck was blowing ice cold air again, and I was feeling better from the cold water. Not only did Wayne get us on back on the road, he told us which rest stops were shaded and he recommended some good places to eat. Wayne went above and beyond to help us out and refused to take any money my husband offered him out of gratitude. Thank you Wayne for your excellent customer service, the service industry should have more people like you.

You representative was unhelpful with what I asked and Elian sent me to a screen like I was sending something back to your store it wasn't helpful at all. What are you going to do about all the people fixing cars in front of your store. The police already been to your stores and removed some cars do you know that it seems like you getting a kick back from the people that are working on the cars mean while they are greasing up the sidewalks so what are you going to do

Middletown location: Door says the store opens at 730am. Online it says 8am. It's now 8:21am and the guy inside has still not opened the doors. Maybe hire people that care about their job.

Not Happy at all !! Calling me and waking me up at 8am to tell me my part is in at Saint Clairsville Ohio 43950 store #1715 Manager said her name was Amanda, and that it is protocol to call that early and that I should have tuned my phone off and I do not turn my phone off in case there is a medical emergency with my family. I asked her to take my number out of their system or phone harassment charges will be filed if she calls my residence again that early or even at all. She said she can not take my number out of the system. She continued to act like there was no problem with the situation and insisted I call corporate office.

I sent an email earlier this week about an incident I had at the south 56th street location in Lincoln Nebraska and an employee making out with a man in the business instead of helping customers. When I reported this I indicated that the employees name was Natasha but has since learned that their real name is actually Andy. I apologize for the confusion but thought you would want to know. Unfortunately I will no longer be visiting any of your establishments if you condon this type of behavior and will be advising my family and friends of the same.

I Had the absolute worst experience at Auto Zone today with some very rude employees. I came in with a receipt to return an item I had bought for the second time and did not work (mag dash pivot ) I'm the box. This is my second return because I really wanted this but it does not stick properly. The employee rudely told me she could not take my receipt because of the date, i them ask could she return the item with no receipt and she rudely said I cannot take that back. I asked the store policy on which she was unable to tell me. Her along with another employee by the name of Caesar proceeded to brush me off in a ride and disturbing way. The service I got was absolutely disturbing and rude. I will NEVER ever shop at auto zone again because of this poor treatment about an item from this store that did not work twice.

I bought a new motor and it was installed by a mechanic. There was an issue and it had to be pulled out and new one sent. Now Auto Zone is refusing to pay for the reinstall. 2,800 dollars worth. They are stealing from me. I have called and spoke to a regional manger who has not been helpful
At all.

I wanted to share how impressed I am with the AutoZone Company. I was at a funeral recently for a friend whose husband works at AutoZone. I sat in the church as around 75 or more AutoZone employees came dressed in a nice AutoZone shirt and walked in together and sat together in that funeral to show solidarity and support to that mourning husband and fellow employee. I've never seen anything like it. That is a company that knows how to support each other. That's a company that knows how to be a team!

I was just in the Powhatan. Virginia store and the employee that helped me was named Quintez. I may have the spelling wrong, he provided the best customer service I have gotten from an auto parts store in 20 years and even came and asked me if he could help me while I was browsing the store. A good employee you need to take care of him

I want to say thank you to a specific employee at your Auto Zone Store at 3322 Cromwell Dr, Norfolk, VA 23509; unfortunately, I don't have her name. However, she was the only lady working on October 4th around 6pm (an older African American lady). She went beyond to help me. My newer Range Rover Sport was having electrical issues/transmission fault, and my phone was dead. She helped me find a cord and brick to charge my phone and made sure I was safe while waiting for the tow truck. She was the only person to do this. On top of that, she offered to charge the cars battery and told me all the wonderful things her store offered. She was wonderful. Please find her, and please tell her how exceptional her caring and empathy are in today's world. She made a difference.

Bought parts from AutoZone ended up getting used parts that were fordmotor company parts inside a duralast box drove 2 hours just to get parts same day only to get someone else's old used part now I'm being told no refund because it isn't the right part well I bet if AutoZone put a 4th grade child on the task to research the part in question it was a return and I got screwed out of couple hundred dollars and my account this month alone I spent 3k at AutoZone fixing vehicles we will be going somewhere else if this isn't fixed half the time they don't wanna give me my military discount because it takes a password is what I'm told and management is busy

Good evening I'm a custom customer of AutoZone and I'd like to complement one of your workers. Miss Britney McNeer, at the Landover Road AutoZone store she assisted me a few nights ago and she had excellent customer service skills she also knew exactly what to do in replacing my rear and front headlights and I really appreciated her so much because she was definitely a professional customer service agent of auto zone with excellent service skills and I just really admire the way that she handled my urgent vehicle needs thank you for Britney, McNear, and AutoZone

I was hours away from home and hit a deer with my maxima, busting the radiator. I purchased a radiator for Auto Zone in Mt Carmel and had to wait for it to be ordered which took two days to arrive, after expressing that I was 7 hrs away from home and needed it sooner.
I waited two days for the radiator to arrive and once I went to pick the radiator up, the clerk dropped it. He supposedly inspected it and sent me on my way.
I replaced the old radiator with the new radiator and just as I assumed it was damaged from the clerk dropping it. I was frustrated from having to wait on the store to order it, wait two days and only to watch the clerk drop it and bust it.
So I trailered my car home on uhaul car hauler and I also had to rent a truck to pull the trailer with my car.
This incident costed me time at work, as I travel for job and I had to sleep inside my car because I was 7 hrs away and didn't know anyone in Mt Carmel to give me a ride to the motel.
Mt. Carmel showed no sympathy and didn't offer to replace my radiator after their employee dropped it.
I believe it would only be fair for some compensation since I lost so much already due to the negligence of their employee. And I'm a 5'8" female, weighing only 112 pounds changing this radiator not once but twice in the middle of a parking lot with the heat index of 112.

Greetings! You know, we are almost wired to waste little to no time complaining when things aren't right. However, we hesitate, and in so many cases--neglect to congratulate when things are done right. I would like to spotlight the hard work, dedication and customer service of store # 3177, and in particular, Store Manager, James Rooker. I saw him work hard even when he was scheduled off, and he is always knowledgeable, professional, cordial and extremely consistent with those attributes mentioned. I truly believe that his leadership has had a direct influence on the staff there. It's because of that kind of ethic I only use your store out of a number of stores in our county. James Rooker and I are unacquainted, other than store transactions, but I felt compelled to let you know that you are represented well. He deserves to hear that someone notices and has the gumption to let it be known on a corporate level. Be well!

Blessings and Peace,

Rev. Carl Wardlaw, III

Auto zone does not care about their employees. There are no chairs in their store for an employee to sit for a few minutes. They expect workers to stand on their feet on concert floors the entire time that are working. They only care about their customers and the profits they realize. There are rugs that are easy to trip over. They do not provide the proper protection for installing batteries and other parts. There are not any covered areas outside for workers to be protected from the sun while they install parts. OSHA should be called to protect employees from harm.

On 30 July at approximately 2pm I, as an electric unicycle, writer walked into the store with my helmet or unicycle, and my backpack. I was immediately screamed at in unison by all of your employees about my backpack, and how I had to leave it at the front counter. all of what I have valuable was in the backpack, of course because I'm writing an electric unicycle, I asked the employee why is it necessary for me to leave my backpack is it because I am black and you think that I'm gonna steal some thing to which the employee responded? It is store policy I pause for a moment to think this employer was telling me that it is store policy for Black people to leave their backpacks , which is extremely problematic I left the backpack and I went to grab the two items that I needed. I actually needed more than two. I just could not remember at the time the rest of the items due to the initial horrible first encounter. All of this should be verifiable from video cameras, which I hope you have. I proceeded to look for the items that I could remember the entire time an employee stood at the beginning of each aisle and watched me making me feel like a criminal or a thief, I could only help but wonder if this is the way that I am going to be treated should I perform with expectation? Should I steal something so that they can feel better about their treatment of me and I can feel better about their treatment to me I did not steal anything nor they had that idea come to mind I only needed fuses and relay switches in line for check it out another confusing thing that happened. I was standing at the wrong end of the checkout line as another customer also got in line behind me, which we were told to switch places I did not want to think why (only negative thoughts would have come to mind) I just wanted to leave at this point, we switch places, and then I was screamed at by another employee standing by the door to use the self check out , if I had not wanted to leave this place faster then I wanted to leave at that moment there, but I need the items that I had in my hand. I went over to self check out a very confusing process and then I left immediately I question myself of should I ever go back to the store and if I do what reasons would I have to want to be treated this way by your employees. As an Air Force veteran I have a minimum expectation of civility, to give it and to receive it as a black male, I expect the worst because that has been what has been demonstrated to me consistently. As a consumer what should be my expectation?

Battery died and I had no idea what to do. Enrique at the Escondido, Ca store was so sweet and helpful. He helped me after the other employees were so rude and walked away from me. They wouldn't help me due to the fact they car battery died next door to Autozone. No reason for such rudeness. Enrique went far and beyond to help me. He should be recognized for his kindness and knowledge. Thank you Enrique

The AutoZone location on Barton Street in Pawtucket Rhode Island needs severe management restructuring and competent help in the commercial department.

1. Phone response and wait time 5 plus minutes

2. No drivers for delivery

3. People when the phone is answered the knowledge is poor at best

This location is loosing on average $3K a week to O'Riley Auto parts and Action Auto Parts due to this location awful service

Does AutoZone always false advertise? Today my fiancé went to buy a full synthetic oil, air filter and oil filter the sign advertised as $38.99, but they said it was for synthetic blend. One manager said they had to sell it to my fiancé and the other manager said no. That's false advertisement. Roseburg, or

You have a store in Keller Texas on North Beach Street. This used to be a very wonderful store for people who work there are great management absolutely sucks!! I walked in here to get a simple wiper blade change and what I heard on the manager say to one of her employees was absolutely horrible. In fact, I will never ever recommend or step foot in that store ever again. For her to ask one of her employees if they "want to die today" just breaks my heart... you never know what type of day somebody is having you never know who is on their last rooe they could be contemplating ending their life and all it would take is for one person to say what she said for them to end it all!! I cannot believe that I heard those words come out of a "manager" mouth, my God I am disgusted.

AutoZone is having young employees replace batteries in cars without proper safety gear and Proper training. They are exposing their employees to hazardous and cancerous materials and chemicals
I'm going to report this to OSHA .

I am very disappointed with my experience at your store in Adrian Michigan today. I went to exchange two parts that had never been installed and the associate called me a liar and was completely rude. I used to be an assistant manager for your company and I have never seen such terrible customer service. I am considering never doing business with your company again.

The idiots at your 2 stores in Southern California....LOMITA & WILMINGTON stores have a game they play with you. If you need an incredibly important part you needed desperately, they will pretend to order you this part, then string you along all day...only to say the driver threw the part away...and now it was lost. They fired the driver they will say...just to piss you off. That is...after you have been on hold for 2-4 hours during this time. They purposely speak with SPANGLISH accents....slurring every word as if they were speech impaired. They are not impaired....but instead....making you repeat your order 100 times. These guys are all bastards.

An undercover boss due at this Auto Zone store location
I go in this store randomly. The cashiers as well as the lady managers are always on attack mode. There's no customer help
You must get your own item. And the manager speaks to customers very rudely. I stop in to purchased motor oil. It was placed in a high rack am short. I couldn't reach it. A store employee was near she was taller. I ask nicely can you reach that it would have taken her less then a minute. She said go to the front. That guy can help. Am like ok. So a guy who was also purchasing something he was tall. Reached and gave me the item.
I get to the register they have different lines for different things. A costumer in front of me was picking up parts. I just wanted to pay
The customer picking up parts didn't know where to stand so she went to the pay here register in front of me. The manager in a loud rudely voice said you go over there me I go to the other. It was the way she yelled at us. I was like really there's an advance auto near by and we have to put up with this rudeness. I don't work for auto zone. I purchased from auto zone. I believe if corporate knew about this behavior changes would take place this is what is called abused of power
Please look into this as an undercover boss
Employees behave when they know their are being investigated
No one should have to endure embarrassing moments to purchase an item.

Autozone on ballantine st. In el cajon California is runned extremely poor, i was in line to pay just for a bottle of armorall , there was only one customer in front of me and we were the only two customers in the whole store, . Waiting in line for 15 min. And no one offered to ring me up. The manager was just sitting on the front desk not doing anything while a younger kid was trying to figure out how to help the customer in front of me .. i left the bottle and walked out and went to oreillys around the corner instead... this autozone is alway s problem ringing people out and giving the wrong parts... poor customer service, I'll never go to this autozone again....

I have a compliment for an employee that works in the Auto Zone (Store #4886) in Southport, NC. His name is Austin and he did an incredible job for me. He replaced my battery with patience and precision. He practiced excellent customer service. He was very friendly and talkative which made me feel more at ease. Austin is a great employee and I wanted you to know that! I am a very happy customer. Thank-you Austin!

Ps. I was told that he could receive a monetary reward for his customer service. I would like him to have the $100.00 added to his check.

I bought a new battery from autozone on bell rd in phoenix,az. in 2018.They had to replace it in March of 2019.Now,here it is less than a year and its bad again. So to make a long story short they dont issue a new warrenty on replaced batteries. In less than 2 years I've had to fork out over 400.00 on two batteries.Stay away from autozone if you need a battery.I'm a senior and i'm on a limited budget.I'm just so pissed they didnt offer a discount or anything.never again will I do business with those people.JUST BEWARE PEOPLE.

I was in one of your stores in katy texas on morton ranch rd, when i was getting helped by this nice lady when she had to take a call, and did very politely and continued to help me at the same time. I was impressed with her ability to do this. She told me politely that she had to grab the phone it was her store manager calling and she had to answer it. I told her sure by all means grab it. The person on the phone was talking very loudly and cussing her and relentlessly as soon as she answered it. She seemed to try to hold her composure for my sake, I'm sure. I asked her after she hung up if she was ok but i could tell she was holding back tears. I don't know why Autozone would let their employees be treated this way. If it wasn't for the nice lady I don't know if I would ever shop in another one of your stores because of the treatment of that poor lady.

Every single clerk says No they won't do it or No not enough staff!! This is ridiculous!! I do not want to get stuck somewhere with a dead battery and have a new battery sitting in my car!!! I don't know how to put it in!! What is your problem???

I think it is pretty sad that after working for AutoZone for 7 years my son has to work through his uncle's funeral. A uncle he grew up with, fishing buddy and friend. He only needed a few hours off and wasn't asking for any pay for the time he was off. Even offered to make up the time.

As owner of a trucking company when one of our employees has a family loss they're immediately flown home without question just like it should be.

I hope you reevaluate your company policy for bereavement policy

Please note , yesterday (7/12/20) I bought a new hand tire pump. During my check out , the store manager had his local radio station and listing to a station with lots of profanity. I personally think that a place of business with young , old , woman and children shopping should not be a place to be hearing any type of nasty music. ( Store manager was Patrick at 6900 chestnut S GIlroy,CA. 408-842-6698.). Really unacceptable and in unprofessional as business establishment.

Just thought you should know. I live in Mountain Home Ark. I have been here since the beginning of 2012. I have been in your store here a lot of times but not any more. I have yet to go in this store and have someone ask if I need help not once. My battery died in my truck Friday. I was close to your store so I went in to get a battery. One of your employees was walking up to the front of the store. He saw me and stopped. I thought he was going to help me but instead without a word he turned and walked away. I thought if they don't want my business I'll go elsewhere. I went to O'REILLY'S where they said welcome and we will be with you shortly. I bought the battery from them and they even installed it. I worked in auto parts for about 14 years. I was either manager or assistant manager during this time. Our main thing was to acknowledge a customer as soon as they came in. This was part of customer service training. I also worked for Auto Zone during those years in Memphis Tn. They told us to speak to the customer as soon as they enter the store but apparently they don't have this type of training in the Mountain Home store. I have had a lot of people tell me they get the same treatment in this store. So as I said before that was and will be the last time I set foot in that store. I wasn't going to send this message but the more I thought about it I thought you should know. I know I would want to know I'm loosing business.

I would used to give this store five stars but now it's hard for me to even give it one star...

I used to work at AutoZone in Scottsboro Alabama with a lot of great people, unfortunately I had to leave due to medical reasons and since then there has been a big change at that location ,all the good employees that I worked with no longer work there, whoever is running that store now is doing a very poorly job ,their customer service is terrible they would rather stand there and gossip with one another instead of helping the customer ,I recently came in and was asking for some cam bearings and they had no earthly idea what I was talking about, they told me that there was no such thing... ( that blew my mind ) I was thinking about trying to get my job back at AutoZone until I seen firsthand on what was going on at the store,, the past six times I have stopped in there in the last two and a half months they have never been open on time, when I work there Craig Sears was the manager and in my opinion he ran that store great and he had some really good employees, so you may want to try to get him back in that store. I am not the type of person to leave reviews good ones or bad ones but this definitely needed to be brought to someone's attention...

Purchased a $50 gift card Christmas Eve from the Fredericksburg, Texas store. Went back on the 27th to use it. They couldn't get it to work and asked us to come back later. Went back the 28th, still couldn't get it to work. Had receipt and asked for refund. No can do. Went back the 29th and waited 35 minutes while they called someone for help. Still no working card. Asked for refund again. No can do. Went back the 30th. Card still not working. At this point I feel like they stole $50 from my wallet. They spent another 45 minutes on the phone with no results. Employee manipulated the register for a small purchase and gave me a strange receipt with a zero balance. Tried to use the card at another location and was treated like dirt bag trying to use a card showing a zero balance. Finally called corporate. They claimed they put the balance due me back on the card yesterday. Once again in the store, no balance today. Autozone stole $27.01 from me and I plan to get it back!

Dear Auto Zone'ers I am a loyal Autozone customer, however, the last few experiences were due to faulty corporate purchasing, not the local staff in
Albemarle NC
Each trip from home to AZ is a 25 mile round trip.
I rented the #27108 OEM (Brand)fan clutch which was supposed to be a 36mm wrench.. The wrench is stamped 36mm, the wrench actually measures 40mm and is absolutely useless for this job. I bet you guys bought a bunch of them without knowing if they were going to work or not!
I also purchased a Dayco 71601 radiator hose that will not PROPERLY FIT the Dodge Dakota as the hood of the truck will tend to pinch off the water flow when the hood is secured. The GATES brand hose from NAPA is of the proper shape.
I also needed a 1/2 inch diameter by 1/16" thickness "O" ring, but your people don't know about "O" rings, and don't stock such arcane pieces, so I have to visit NAPA where they have the foresight to stock those small parts which make or break the job.
Should I just go trade with NAPA? I do like your staff and people, but even if you are a wall street wonder, your management needs to actually "turn their own wrenches" and see what this type of work really entails.
How many 25 mile trips did this job entail? Too many.
How long before I get a response? Not holding my breath.
Still your customer, for now, Mark Franks

I would just like to take time to recognize a young man who is employed in your store at 2849 E. Ledbetter in Dallas, Tx. Store#1594 This young man came out to where my daughter, my grand daughter age 18 months and myself were stranded in Dallas Tx. under the underpass near the exit of Loop 12 in Heavy traffic and blistering heat. He went above and beyond the call of duty to get us some help and stayed with us until the person he contacted was close by due to prior appointment. He did not want to leave us but we did not want him to be late. Mr. Junior Hernandez was such a help and I just would like for you to know what an asset he is to your company. Please Please Please if you can somehow make sure that he knows how much we appreciate his help it would be great. We lived in Fairfield, Tx and that was still an hour and a half drive. all this happened at the peak hour of 4:30 when the traffic is so bad on I-45. Our car had a broken belt and we did not have any money on hand. God Bless you for some wonderful people employed by your company. Thank you

Hello,

Whatever you did to the format of your webpage, please fix it. For WEEKS now I haven't been able to search for parts applicable to my vehicle as the pop-up (which asks for your car's info) keeps popping up (I think that, perhaps, the Obamacare site might actually be better).

Your webpage in this condition is worthless and I have already started shopping at your competitor. I have been your customer for over a decade and drive 20 minutes one way just to shop at your store. I am absolutely fed up that nothing is being done to fix this.

I already emailed AZ and they were "surprised" to read about my complaint. Good thing there is an Advanced Auto in town; they are 2 miles from my house, have good prices, and most of all have a webpage that works. You've lost my business for who knows how long.

Posted by Anonymous

Is there a reason for posting all these complaints, and are you (Corporate Office) doing something to remedy the disrespectful behavior of attendant at AutoZone. That is my case or my experience? I am in CA and your Corporate Offices in TN! Is there an office in this state?

i was in one of u'r stores in Oildale calif on n.chester and witness u
a hispanic manager sexauly herrassing one of the female employies in the store i feel that thjis manager has no respect for the female employies that are there to do their job and they should not be man handled like some hooker. If this is how u run a place of business and the management can say rude remarks like lets go and get a motel rm to the females in the store that are employed by u.

On 11/5/13 at about 8:18 pm my mother in law and myself have walked into the Auto Zone located on Rice st. In St. Paul, MN. As soon as we entered the store the Hmong male cashier gives us the dirtiest look as if we have walked into the wrong store. We waited in line patiently for him to finish helping the customer before us. This is a little before closing so we were the only customers there. As he finished helping them he took a few mins before he acknowledged us standing in line. He comes over to the comp with no eye contact or greeting whatsoever and I just go right ahead and ask for the product I needed. I am only running an errand for my husband so I didn't know much about what I need. He goes on with the riff about the car, year etc. we located the product but I had requested to make a call before purchasing just to make sure it was right because it is late. The male walks away stating he knows what he is talking about. As we approach the checkout lane the same male cashier still doesn't ask to check us out he just conversate and laugh hysterically with his coworker. As he rings me up he doesn't state my total he just stands there still talking to his coworker just waiting for me to hand him my debit card. This is not your everyday complaint on receiving the wrong parts etc. this complaint is being posted due to the fact that I come in all the time with my husband and there is no problem but the minute I walk in with my mother in law we (females) are treated completely different. I walked out a very dissatisfied customer due to the lack of respect I received due to my gendar. This sales man was rude and had nothing good in customer service skills. I am upset about this terrible experience and want this complaint to be addressed to the store manager and the rude hmong cashier. It's too bad I can't remember his name clearly but he was the only hmong male working that night.

The auto zone Conroe Tx. is in dire need of training. You can't pay however you want (cash, credit, check). After waiting for over 15 minutes for my turn (I knew exactly what I wanted)I was informed that I was standing in the wrong line to pay w/cash?????? Wrong line??..is this the DMV or a auto parts store? In high school I worked for a auto parts store & know how to treat the customer. I do almost all repairs to my cars & have NEVER experienced this before. Also people who came in after me were waited on before me & the people behind me.

Greetings my favorite auto parts store.......

A few weeks ago I received one of your ads with a great sale on oil and filter......I went to your local store in Morro Bay, Ca. which I receive great service from the clerks by the way, and proceeded to buy the oil and filter using the coupon......At the check-out stand the clerk read the VERY FINE PRINT that said it only applied to the reclaimed oil I believe you call it NEXGEN and he read that it applyed to NEXGEN ONLY,,,well I had missed reading that very fine print and in disgust left it and other thing on the counter and stormed out of the store.....In which I am sorry for having done that...All I'm trying to say here is that it would be nice to make the fine print larger for us Seniors....Thanks ben

I went into your store in Bartlesville, Ok today to purchase a a wiper blade for my vehicle. I shop there for all my parts all the time. One of your associates held the door open for me as I entered as he was coming in at the same time. There must have been a crude jester being made by him as we walked in because another associate at the counter starting laughing at me. He said "What do you want?" Not may I help you. I told him what I needed and the make of my car. He began to tell me I could not by them anymore. Can't you look on the computer. He said no.
He than asked the man who opened the door about it. He said he need to know the size and width etc. I told him I don't know the width or length but my car is out front could you go look at it. He kept talking over me and told me no he could not go out and look. There were only me and another person there?!!!! He finally told me if I would be quiet and let him talk. By than 3 people were talking at me and one laughing. I was so humiliated I got mad and cussed them all out as I walked out the door. I am a 68 yr old woman and have NEVER been treated this way. I will never step foot again in Auto Zone and I will tell everyone I know about your company. I work for a large oil
company in this town and believe me word will get around.

I was in Autozone on 1-8-13 just an hour ago and this storefront is located on Columbia Drive in Decatur, Georgia. They were being very inconsiderate, bordering on rude to a customer who was in line, at first behind me, then through my grace in front of me. He had been patiently awaiting a resolution to a unresolved problem he was having, once his anxiety level built up, and the employee he was dealing with was insensitive to his needs, the manager came out and was as cavalier, at his expense, as the employee had been. Now its my turn. I am bringing back of course a 3rd battery, that supposedly has a life expectancy of 7 years, that keeps going out on me, just prior to be installed over two years, just as the warranty for free replacement runs out. On the first two occasions, I took the hit and paid per protocol, the pro ration to receive another battery for merchandise that had failed to do as was promised. The worst thing is how unconcerned the higher command of corporate is handling these situations. Advance has won my business, A new year. New resolutions. I will tell everyone I know how shady Autozone is with doing business, in an effort to direct them somewhere else

I am really upset with autoZone. I own a Lexus that I drive several times a week. I had to purchase a battery in july, because mine was dead. the receipt said they would replace the battery within a year. Well, here it is december 24th, and guess what? My battery was dead. My son took the battery back and they told him there was a dead cell, as he replied" yes I know i checked". He told them to replace the battery according to the receipt. They told him they could not, so they charged it up and gave it back. I, of course being older am afraid to be caught out late at night for fear the battery will die. It had a dead cell, and it should not have had that being so new. I too will not do business with them as they do not hold up their promise on the receipt. By the way, the store that refused is located in Pearland, Texas. Susan

I am shocked at your response to the courageous deed of your employee, Devin McLean. He should have been given a special recognition and public honor. Until now I have been pleased with the service at AutoZone. However, unless your company makes a public apology to McLean, and also acknowledge that you have insulted sll Americans regarding our freedom, our constitutional rights, our duty to help and protect others, and our right to self-defence, then I will take my business elsewhere. I liked AutoZone but not enough to overlook the firing of Air Force veteran Devin McLean. AutoZone has lost another good customer.

Posted by 36_Years_Of_CHL_Carry

I'm quite sure that Auto Zone wrote their company policy under advice of some wimp of an attorney. I learned some 20 years ago that the U.S. has 75% of all the attorneys ON THE PLANET, practicing within its borders!(The statistic is probably worse by now.) I realized then that we were
all in serious trouble!

With 7 billion people on the planet, some 320 million
people being here in the U.S. and 75% plus of all the attorneys residing (and most, conceivably practicing) HERE! (I might add that the vast majority of both
houses of Congress are attorneys).

Attorneys are trained to know the law and they like to think that they know best how the laws should be. But in my humble opinion, very few of them have what we call common sense. The same goes for many Boards of Directors and their executives.

As it has been said so many times in these posts, this man is a hero and should have been treated like one. Sure the company may have their "Zero-tolerance Policy" but they can make an exception without encouraging their
other employees to either "arm up" nor react in the same way that this man did.

It is not well known, because for one thing the "drive-by media" doesn't like to report positive outcomes of citizens using firearms to stop crimes, but between 1 and 2 million times per year in this country, a crime is stopped dead in its tracks by a legally armed private citizen using a firearm. The reason the number can't be more accurate is that many of these incidents are
never reported.

A Mr. John R. Lott, Jr.(Phd?), has written the definitive works on this subject in two books entitled "The Bias Against Guns" and "More Guns, Less Crime". If anyone
with half a brain were to read one or both of these books they would come away with a completely different understanding of how law-abiding, free civilian men
and women can and do, make a difference everyday in this country helping to curb major crime. And that without them, things would be far worse.

Although I usually do not participate in boycotts, I WILL BE IN THIS ONE! I have an Auto Zone store at just a little over a mile from me, and I have done
business there. But this will stop. Also I will advise all of my family and friends to do the same. O'Reilly and NAPA both have stores about 2-3 miles from my home. While less convenient, they will get my business until things
are changed with this Auto Zone debacle!

Autozone has chosen to put political correctness above common se$nse. Our household spends easily $200/month for various items at their store. We will no longer be patronizing this establishment. Advanced auto is right down the street from Autozone and that is where we will be shopping!

Dear Sirs,
I have been doing business with your company from when you were "Auto Shack" & thought of myself as a loyal customer.
I am writing because of your despicable treatment of Mr. Devin McClean. By your actions/policy, it is clear to me that you want the criminals to feel safe robbing your store, employees & customers and care nothing for my safety.
Unfortunately since you have seen fit to ensure that I can no longer feel safe in your stores I will no longer be doing business with you.
As it is, there is not only an NAPA & Advance store on the road before I reach your store, but two independents. In the future, I will no longer be passing them up, but instead, I will be stopping in there, I will feel safer & save gas besides.

Sincerely,
Larry J Davis

AutoZone just down the street from me....16415 SE Division St, Portland, OR 97236

Hey Corporate, I'm sure my $100-$200 spent at your store each year is nothing, however, my choice is TO spend those $$ at Baxter's Auto Parts just down the street from now on.

This is what you get from one American who is tired of dealing with fence walking, PC, 0bama supporting douche-bags.

Everyone has the right to self defense and you idiots should be praising Devin McClean (York County PA store) for his heroic actions rather than administering punishment for DOING THE RIGHT THING.

I'm done with AutoZone like many others are. Fire a guy because he did the right thing? Really!

Posted by seawatch

AutoZone should be rewarding the employee who used his firearm to prevent an armed robber from potencialy shooting another employee. This again proves thieves only respect force when they are confronted with equal force. I am a long time customer of AutoZone but not any more.

Guess I will be turning in my rewards card. Cheap crap anyway, just convenient. No longer though, as I will drive a little further to the nearest competitor. Adios anti-American zone.

I will walk before i buy another auto part from you insensitive fools. The good news is Mr McLean will be offered jobs by good employers. He can work for me any day and will never have to install an auto zone part on a customer's car. you guys make me sick. I will tell your story to all in the bussiness who will listen.

Posted by Pikeman

As I never find myself unarmed I am sure I have been armed in an AutoZone many a time. I do however support your decision to declare yourself a gun free zone. I will even place signage stating that your official policy is to be a gun free zone and that potential robbers should observe the stores open hours to assure they have help carrying anything that they may desire. I will continue to exercise my decision to remain armed whether in AutoZone or not. Should an event occur that requires me to defend myself or one of your employees I will do so but I will not lift a finger nor drop a hammer to defend your property or management.

Posted by doesn't matter

let's get a grip on this whole thing. Where is comment sense and doing the right thing a bad idea. A man of that character doesn't deserve or need to work for your organization.

Good on him for doing the right thing. His judgement (fired employee) is something that has waived good bye to the American people, especially the youth. Watch how screwed up your new crop of up coming employee's are going to be.

I understand policy and procedure violations have consequences, but sometimes you must overlook them for the greater good. A good way around this one is consider the employee "clocked out" and he returned as a customer with a firearm and diffused the situation before anyone got hurt. You cannot control an employees actions once off company time. My business will go to checker and the gas companies will love it as I'll drive out of my way to avoid Antigun zone.

Autozone, add another lost customer to your growing list. I by no means am your largest customer. And I'm sure that this will fall on blind eyes and deaf ears. By firing the employee for protecting both himself and his coworker, I in turn have decided to fire you for NOT protecting him. Your policy of no guns put him in harms way to begin with.
In fact, I'm glad you did fire him. An employee like that should have no problem finding a job with an employer that doesn't infringe on people's rights. His character is way better than yours, and he deserves better. And so do your customers. Good bye. Ill take my $100,000/year business I do with you to NAPA.

Good Job Auto Zone. You just lost yet another customer on an ever growing list. Your Termination of Employee and Veteran Devin McLean for defending himself and his Manager in York County, VA. is inexcusable. For years I have shopped exclusively at your stores for my auto parts needs. You have convenient locations, and for the most part great employees who are usually helpful. From now on, I will drive the extra couple of Miles to avoid your establishments.

This is regarding the firing of Devin McLean for defending himself and his Manager in York County, VA.
This action by your Corporation was per the letter of your law, but it is also shows ignorance in showing flexibility by using logic. It is socially irresponsible of you for doing this.
I will now take my business elsewhere.

I will never step foot into an Autozone again. way to treat a veteran and a guy who went back to make sure his boss was ok

("Television station WTKR reported that McClean violated corporate policy by leaving the store and returning with a weapon.

The station spoke to a representative from the company's corporate office who said they had a "zero tolerance policy for employees having weapons inside the store."

An AutoZone spokesman told Fox News they will not discuss the matter.")

We should all just lie down and be victims right, remember the saying "the only way for evil to triumph is for good me to do nothing"
Shame on you and your ridiculous policy. Saying there is a zero tolerance policy on anything is idiotic, there is always the exception and that should be taken into account. What if the robber kills someone next time? Maybe your company should be liable for that. It's a shame also, I really lilked the autozone by me... but on principle will go elsewhere!

Posted by cw

Bad decision on dissing an American hero. Reverse it publicly and I'll consider returning my company's business to AutoZone. Also, consider canning the "P-C" HR VP that came to that decision. We (customers) are wondering where and what are your values?

Posted by DMZ

I too have instructed our Purchasing Department to write no more requisitions to AutoZone. You don't fire a man for protecting himself and his manager when confronted by a robber and fearing for his life. What you did is wrongheaded and sends the wrong message. Goodbye to over $ 100,000 dollars cash sales of our business yearly.

I will never set foot in one of your stores again. You fired a hero! Blindly applying ignorant 'corporate rules' confirms your company's complete lack of integrity to its employees. I hope you head for bankruptcy soon.

Gentlemen:
The firing of Devin McLean for defending himself and his Manager in York County, VA is unconscionable. Until this is made satisfactory to Mr. McLean I will no longer patronize Auto Zone. Advance Auto, NAPA, and O'Reilly's are all within walking distance of AutoZone here. AutoZone was my default supplier until now. With two four wheel vehicles, an airplane, and seven motorcycles I saw a lot of them. He showed exemplary restraint and good judgement which should be rewarded.

I've always shopped at Autozone because you've always had good pricing, but there's plenty of other auto parts retailers in my area. From now on, either Pep Boys, Napa, or O'Reilly's will be getting my business.

I agree! Shame on Autozone for firing that employee for defending his manager. I will no longer buy fron you!

this policy all has to do with a lawsuit. Autozone would rather risk the lives of their employees and customers than get sued by a robber who gets shot by an employee. Money always rules over lives by these corporations.

Unbelievable. This is the time when you secretly ignore your own stupid policy and give the guy a RAISE! AutoZone is on my "NO BUY" list until this egregious injustice is corrected.

Until Autozone makes right the firing in the York VA store I will no longer be buying anything from them.

My name is Sue Mitchell and I previously sent a complaint involving a refund that took over a month to get the money..actually it will still be 10 more days. I had to fax several papers to them TWICE because they couldn,t find the first ones. that was a cost of $7.60 each time. even though this was thier error they refused to refund the $15. for faxes. I live a distance away from a store that faxes. so time was also involved. There are atb least 5 other auto part stores in the same city as autozone. Rest assured I will be going there next time.

I ordered rotors and brake pads online. they were shipped seoerately. the royors were someone elses order. I took them back to autozone for a refund and purchased the correct ones. The refund was to go back on the card they were purchased with. instead of going to me the refund went on the persons card who ordered the parts. I have called at least 6-8 times. before thanksgiving they told me a list of papers to fax them I did this and waited a week still nothing the friday after Thanksgiving I called and they couldn't help me because the person who recieved the fax was out until Monday. I just called again and they want me to fax everything again as "Donald" cannot find it. I live in the country over an hour from an available fax machine. I asked to speak to Donald and was told he was not available. I asked for his supervisor and was told they couldn't do that. I asked for a corporate number and was told they cannot give that to a customer. It has been a month and I would appreciate my $54. Is that asking too much??

It's a shame the only auto store that's located in an area by it self never have parts your customer needs . Referring to your ne 23rd store.
