I was at a branch in downtown Cleveland ohi'm Cleveland Ohio and had a horrible customer service experience and was highly offended by what the bank manager was talking about I told him to stop and he kept taunting me I'm getting a group together to picket that branch I filed a complaint with your customer service department and they have not called me back BE

The customer service process is ridicules.also when trying to redeem reward points its a huge runaround? But when its time to be gouged with a annual fee that happens immediately thanks P.B.M.!

I have been a customer with 53rd for over 10 years. Prior to today I loved 53rd. And I can honestly say today I am extremely disappointed and looking for a new bank. The hardship that they caused me today is unforgiving. Even after speaking to three supervisors they were unable to resolve the issue after admitting there seems to be a problem on their end. But yet there was absolutely no resolution offered other then "sorry".

I have utilized mobile deposits for 3 years with my payroll check. I have never had a issue. My check had never had a hold. I made two check deposits yesterday $1800 and $200. The $1800 check was placed in hold status. I was never told this. I was told today by 3 supervisors there was absolutely nothing they could do and it would be released on the 12/16/2022. Even after explaining how much of a hardship this was creating I was given the response "sorry". I asked if I could possibly get a partial credit and was told no. I could understand the hold if this was a new account. But I have made this deposit monthly for 3 years using the mobile app. I work hard for my little monthly paycheck while caring for my elderly mother 4 days a week.
Hardship created by fifth third:
1. I can't pay for gas Thursday and Friday for work. Therefore I can't work
2. I can't pay for gas or groceries for Saturday-Tuesday. I have to travel 3 hours to care for my mother on those day her home health nurse is scheduled off.
3. I can't pay for my bills that are already scheduled this week.

I understand this hardship doesn't seem like much but to me and my mother this is major. If I had known the hold would be placed I would have never made that deposit. And was told the deposit could not be canceled. If it was canceled I could open a new account at another bank and have access to my funds (Wells Fargo has verified the funds).
I needs my funds released. I just don't understand how this bank can be so unfair to loyal customers.

I paid off my car loan and was told I would be getting my title in the mail in a few days. I got a letter today thinking that was the title but no it was an idiotic suggestion to use auto bill payer in the future for payments. Hello people I paid off my loan I want my title not some idiotic suggestion from p Brian Moore Senior vice president who seems to be a name for many people in that department it's some kind of nom de plume I suppose.

Hello:

The reason I am contacting Fifth Third Bank is because I have tried for approximately 2 years
to find out why each month Fifth Third Bank is taking a fee out of our business accountant. For the last (almost) 2 years $19.95 has been taken out of our business checking account. I have try on many unsuccessful occasions to have someone from World Pay and Fifth Third Bank try to help with this matter.
We had set up the use of Charge Card payments by our customers through Fifth Third. When starting this system up we agreed to only pay when we used the cc system.
I have never come across a bank with the worst customer service ever. Fifth Third does not care about the customer, the only importance to Fifth Third is getting customers to sign up
for their services. Of course, after that the customer is on their own.
I would very much like to get this matter resolved. I have even filled out and submitted the form from World Pay online which was suppose to stop any fees coming out. Of course, someone forgot to explain this part to me when we initially signed up for the service.

Thank you,
Mary Defibaugh

WORST BANK EVER! I am a beneficiary on an account, the executor and trustee on my moms estate -gave branch all docs 2 times over, asked for a final statement, told to fax my request, branch cant do that, I fax all docd, just got them back with a new autogenerated letter asking for the same docs to mail or fax again. Plus what gives the Bank the right to HOLD funds , that are suppose to be distributed to rightful owner, for over 2 weeks, then they say they will mail me a check....regular mail??????????

I was a POD on my brothers checking account when he died at the end of July. Was told they would need copy of death certificate. Provided within a week. Wanted to stop all activity before auto-pays went out at first of the month. Was then told they would need abstract affidavit. Auto-pays continued, auto deposits (pension and SS) continued. Was told I was not authorized to receive any information. Still waiting for account to be closed. I get a letter directed to my deceased brother dated Feb.3rd stating account is $891.76 overdrawn. They don't want to damage his credit. WOW!

When my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC, we bought our new condo. Shortly thereafter 5/3 built a new branch in a new shopping center right across the street. That branch became our bank. Approximately 13 years later my husband had died and I moved to Alexandria, VA, where there were no 5/3 banks and I joined another bank!. During my 5 years in Alexandria, I continued to receive emails from 5/3 reminding me it was time to make a payment to the utility company. I called the bank several times so that mistake could be corrected. Each time I never got an answer but was assured that it would be taken care of. Not. Fast forward. I just moved to Marietta, Georgia, and, yes, 5/3 has followed me with the same reminder. More than anything, it is VERY ANNOYING. And, I think 5/3 NEEDS TO FIX THE GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM!!! I cannot be the only be this has happened to.ALm

Has anyone else experienced fifth Third Bank illegally open an escrow account in your name without your permission? Im looking to contact an attorney and wonder if a class action law suite is best to resolve it.

Sadly there's no convenient way to connect for resolution of questions. Seems like they planned it this way.

I have tried for the past 10 days, and now many hours on Hold with every customer service phone number given to me or that I could find. Just puts me on hold and then on some sort of loop which brings me back to the initial message. It is imperative that I get in touch with someone. I do NOT want to be in default. I am trying to follow specific guidelines.

I'm leaving fifth third bank for similar nonsense I am seeing here branch says one thing changes their mind then it cost me $300 out of pocket. If you want to refinance check out union savings bank low rates and LOW closing cost $359 includes everything except escrows. Closing fee is $299 plus $60 recorders fee. Fifth Third was $1700 closing fee without escrows. I have a 840
credit score I guess they don't want my business

On the verge of paying off everything I own and leaving 5th 3rd once and for all.

P BRAIN MOORE is what I call him as he cannot be very smart if he allows all the crap to go on at his bank. They overcharged me $900 once on a IRA charge, they allowed someone in Cincinati to steal a credit card number on an account I had never used once, the list goes on and on. I used to be a preffered customer but when I moved all my IRA money suddenly I am getting charged for every little thing, go figure but i still have 2 mortgages and a home equity they make money on....... absolutely worthless bank ran by a PEA BRAIN!

Made a mistake on CD interest rate 60 days ago and I still have not received the interest owed to me. It has been a constant battle trying to get the money owed me. Managers at local branch has no clue what they are doing...I have been told by Bank Manager he just sent in the info requested and I will receive the interest check any day. That was 40 days ago. 5/3 bank sucks...go elsewhere.

I would like to reach P. BRIAN Moore. I have just had a horrible experience trying to refinance my fifth third mortgage. It has been going on since march. Please let me know how to reach him.

Posted by mrfla

Where to start? Evidently a P. Brian Moore is a bit of a widely used name by this institution. After months of trying, I was able to get them to escrow my homeowner's insurance. Mr. Moore sent me a long letter that basically was an excuse as to why it took so long. Whatever.

NOW, they have taken it upon themselves (without notification or permission) to escrow my windstorm insurance, which I pay myself. Getting this fixed has been a nightmare, and it is still not over. My fav part is that Mr. Moore sent me a 2-page letter IN TWO DIFFERENT ENVELOPES. I guess they have money to burn (our money) and this letter, about escrow, included a huge blurb about BANKRUPTCY! I was told that it was put on there by mistake. Right. So, getting an attorney involved to see if there is ANYONE at this bank who has any brains whatsoever.

There was a fraudulent charge on my husband's credit card, a card with excellent payment history, flagged by Fifth Third as fraud but then they trashed my husband's credit with a charge-off for this fraudulent charge. We're trying to close on a mortgage that will cost $5000 more in fees because of this write-off and NO ONE WILL HELP. No one knows anything, no one can do anything. Oh, and we were "preferred" customers of the bank. How do they treat regular customers? Worst bank imaginable with the most inept people working for them. It's a vortex of stupidity.

I am not feeling 5/3 better. How is it a loan payoff letter was not accurate, so I was due a refund. Ok but never issued refund so loan not closed. 2 days later I was told loan didn't close because I was now owed a bigger refund and then was given a check. However, I could not get a loan paid and closed letter for 2 days. Then I'm told I owe $3 and will not be able to get a loan pay off letter until 2 business days after I pay $3. And no one can figure out what happened that I was not given right payoffs. To make matters worse, I needed loan paid and closed letter to close on my home! Even was manager was contacted, manager would not give approval for a letter to be drafted. So my closing pushed back 2 days. Hey 5/3 now I think you owe me 2 days interest due to your delays, on the $303k delayed sale!

If they dont stop calling my cell 4 to 6 times a day I promise I will sign a complaint and I WILL start a class action suit against them for harassment! I have no account with them at all!!!! Im sick of it, them and the people who work for them. Ive called and stayed on the phone for over an hour trying to get this to stop. Im done!

Do not waste more money, please. In some instances, mine specifically, you are wasting money. You're trying to incentivise Refinancing where the current rate is higher than what I have. Why not check the rates and send out letters to a more focused group, and save?

Customer service is horrible and I will never bank with Fifth Third again. When I am finished with my current deployment; I will be removing my accounts and proceeding on to another financial institution that doesn't violate the rights of active military personnel while they are overseas and have no access to a cell phone and very minimal to a land-line. Their business practices are unethical and morally corrupt. Contacting the BBB, CFPB and Attorney General to proceed with federal violations along with their inability to be concerned for someone who is fighting for their freedom. They have added on unacceptable stress. No response for weeks now and continued added fees for something I cannot handle overseas. Next stop, seeking an attorney.

Fight back!!! I heard Greg Carmichael CEO of Fith third is in jail for fraud....

Wonder who else will get nabbed...?

For the Love of God! We got a letter from P. Brian Moore, Senior Vice President, telling us if we add $5,000 or more to our equity line, we will get a special interest rate until March of 2019. Well, seems this is the best kept secret at 5th 3rd...our branch knows nothing about it, Customer Service knows nothing about it....we added more than the required amount, yet, we are being told our interest rate hasn't decreased....grrrr!

I Dont Understand Why This Bank Allows Hazing And Harassment In Theior Banks . When It Comes To Finance , There Should Always Be Professional Conduct . People Should Be Writen And Told When They Have Deposits In Their Accounts , That Needs To Be Properly Guarded . The Key Word There Is "deposit " I Dont Like The Unprofessional Conduct Of This Bank . None Of It Is Funny , And Should Not Be Tolerated . Many Of The Hazing And Harassment Actions By Your Employees Have Legal Ramifications , And Are Criminal Acts . Hazing In The Bank Is A Criminal Act

i am very disappointed with 5/3rd bank right now because my mother had an account with this bank for nearly 30 years and passed away in march of this year, since that time i have been trying to close her account. I have been getting the run around and I have submitted the required documentation to have access of this account. The current balance has not been released to me as next of kin and monthly service fees are still being charged.

On December 31,2015 my lawyer and I went to 5/3 rd bank in Gurnee Il. to close my brothers account . My brother passed away on Dec. 27, 2015 from a massive heart attack, it was quite a shock. Upon entering the bank my lawyer asked a teller if we ccould possibly use an empty office, that was right there, for me to sign some papers he brought, he also explained to her why we were there. She got another man from another office, my lawyer explained to him why we were there, this man went and got Matthew Rothmann,(ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT) he was very skeptical about us using an office, Him and his side kick escorted us to an office 5 feet away and stood there, my lawyer asked if we could have privacy, reluctantly they left us. When we were through we went to Matthew's office with the side kick in tow. Matthew represented your bank as a insensitive, arrogant, selfcentered ass. Never once did her make us feel welcome or tell me that her was sorry to hear about my brother, never smiled or made us feel confortable, he made us feel like we were wasting his time , he spend about ten minutes with us. We were able to close the accounts, but left feeling like we were criminals. Hopefully your executives from your banks receive customer service ediquet classes in there training, Matthew must of been out sick that day. If the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure he would feel the same way. I will never do business with 5/3rd ever again, I have never been treated this way at any other bank I have ever dealt with.

I am pulling my account and will never do business with this bank again. For the third time, since I have been a "valued customer" of this bank, my account has been defrauded again. I reported the fraud and was told that the money would be credited back and the fees credited within 4-5 business days. I was also told that because the account was now over drawn that in order for me to elect to overdraft my account all I needed to do was bring the account balance to the positive and I would be able to over draft my account again but would not be responsible for overdraft charges because of the credits that would be applied in the coming days. It is now day three of this absolute craziness that is my banking experience with this company. After being told to bring account to the positive, I was then told it would be okay for me to use my card at the ATM. Tried to use ATM and could not get money out. Called customer service and they said there is no reason why it was denied and could not tell me what the problem was. Bank manager and teller both told me that I could use the card according to what they know and they can't explain either. Called customer service and they said that because my direct deposits had not cleared that was why I could not withdraw money Had to wait until those cleared by 7:00am the next day. the next day at 11:00am I attempted to withdraw money and I could not. Called customer service again and they said that it showed that I should be able to withdraw and cant figure out what the problem is. Disputes department said that I could not use card at ATM for cash because system has not updated. Told me that I could use my card for purchases but not cash and in fact they also told me that I could get cash advance from store if they do that and that I could get cash that way. Went to grocery store to buy groceries and went to use my card and it was denied. Look like complete fool and had to leave 200.00 worth of groceries sitting in a cart when I left the grocery store. Unbelievably embarrassed!!!!!! came home called customer service and was told again that they show that there is no reason for the card not to work and cant explain it. Card active, account active, overdraft active. WAs hung up on by customer service and supervisors alike several times. was told by one customer service rep that if I was a better money manager that I wouldn't be in this position in the first place. Mind you, someone stole money out of my account so what that was supposed to mean I have no idea. Thought I would try one more time to figure this out and called customer service who keeps trying to transfer me to disputes department who says they cant do anything and that I have to talk to customer service. Anyway, now am being told that because the overdraft amount is "so large", the system will not allow continual overdrafts so that is why I cannot use my card at ATM Or at store. Then they said that the system will not allow an override of those fees, mind you these fees are going to be credited back to my account because it was my money until 2-3 days from now. which does nothing for me since I have no cash and no way of using my card to by groceries or anything else for that matter. SO here I sit trying to figure out how a bank can hold me hostage from my money that was stolen from me so I can feed my kids. One customer service rep supervisor seemed very proud of the fact there bank gets disputes resolved in 4-5 days as opposed to other banks who do it in 7-10 days, again, how does that help me get through and feed my kids for the next 3 days. I am so frustrated and furious and totally dismayed that no one seems to be able to give me the correct information or be able to do anything sooner to get me MY money. Hense why I will be leaving this institution and their very unprofessional customer service. I am not a wealthy person and I do live paycheck to paycheck and having my account cleaned out by someone and no way to access any money for 4-5 days to feed my kids just seems a little to much to ask of this "valued customer". They say that they record calls for quality & training purposes and I certainly hope that is the truth because someone needs to look and listen to what is going on and maybe some retaining needs to occur. Having 8-9 different people tell you something wrong 8-9 times doesn't seem very customer service like to me and shows the lack of either knowledge or just complete disregard for the customers. Being hung up on because you are trying to understand and figure out what is going on with your account is deeming and belittling and I wont go through that again. If the only thing I can do is write a review to warn others away from this institution then that is what I will do. You may have taken my money............... but you haven't taken my self respect or my fight for what is right.

I will never use 5/3 bank again. My mother went into a nursing home and due to dementia she didn't keep her bank records. I asked for copies of the imaged checks to give proof to medicaid about her expenditures (I was on her account). Almost 4 weeks into the branch (5117 W Saginaw Hwy Lansing, MI) supposedly working on my request, I was called to 'remind me that there is a $5 printing fee for each image'. When I gasped and stated that neither my husband or I were made aware of this fee, I was told by the banking rep that she had full recollection of telling me and my husband this. If this were the case, why was she suddenly calling me to make me aware of the fee? I spoke with the branch manager and was told that he confirmed that not only had the rep told me about the fee, but that another team lead said she also informed me of the fee! I never spoke with anyone other than the initial rep. So the branch manager pretty much called me a liar. I am educated and fairly intelligent and would acknowledge had I been told of any fees regarding this. IN FACT, had anyone told me of the fee, I wouldn't have requested the copies of these checks. I don't have the money to spend on this type of thing. Regardless, I am picking up my statements and I will NEVER do business with your company again. Customer service is NOT your strong suit. I had trouble with 5/3 even before this. But this is the icing on the cake.

I am a manager at a big corporate chain in which all of our stores bank with fifth third. Everytime I send my employees to get change from the bank in Blue island Il., they give them attitudes and make them wait long periods of time. Today we went to get singles and they had none. How does a bank not have singles? I'm sorry but those girls don't like their jobs and should not have one working with people. Someone needs to address this issue with them because who knows who else they are giving attitudes to.

Fifth Third here in Kankakee IL. Is the worst out of 5 employees may have 1 friendly one. Khristine has no customer service skills. People often complain about along with Patty. Khristine talk over you and at you. Seriously its time to move my business.

This bank completely screwed me over! i am a single dad of 2 little boys, i have been saving up for christmas over the past 8 months. i checked my account because i was looking to make a payment on my layway and i see a payment was drafted out by 5th 3rd, sending my bank account into negitve status. i called and asked why this happened considering my loan was paid off in full the month prior. The 1st rep was sweet and understanding, she said they apologize and will have my money back in my account within 3-5 biz days. i had to put off paying my kids health insurance because the money 5th 3rd took was the insurance money. i figured i could get a grace period. well 6 biz days later i called and a lady named britney "helped" me... she was very unpleasant saying it doesnt matter and they are not sending anything till they are ready and it doesnt matter if they were not supposed to take it, i still have to wait untill they get around to it 10-15 biz days. I dont have the money to wait for that and now i am about to get my kids health insurance cut because i am going on a week and a half late! brittney wouldnt give me her last name or the corp #. i am very upset about the lack of professionalism their "customer service" has! Be aware that this bank does not care about its customers! i am not finished with just this blog, i am a collections manager for a legal firm very familiar with laws and procedures that they do have to adhere to.

I am a retired professor, as well as a forensic psychologist; I have served as a consultant/resource person to a number of law enforcement agencies, including the State of Ohio Highway Patrol as well as the F.B.I. During my career my wife and I have had the experience of banking in several different banks at varied locations.
A few years ago we moved into a new home here in south-suburban Tampa and started to bank at a branch of Fifth Third Bank located at the junction of U.S.301 and Big Bend Road in Riverview, FL
Our repeated banking experiences at this particular branch have continued to be outstanding. We originally opened checking and saving accounts, along with Master Card. Due to the efficient, friendly, helpful, and obviously professional way that this Fifth Third Bank branch is managed, we now have 7 different accounts, including my IRA account most recently!( My wife recently learned the manager's name ..... Ms. L. Kyburz )
In closing, my wife and I both appreciate the very fine manner/style/format as it relates to the account statements that we receive each month. Thus far, we have never found a single error!!

I live in Troy, Ohio, and bank at the Fifth Third branch inside our local Kroger. Yesterday I was at the branch doing my usual banking, and found out that this branch is permanently closing on December 12th. This closing will cause major inconvenience for me and other seniors doing bank business and grocery shopping all in one stop. I want to encourage Fifth Third to seriously reconsider the decision to close this Kroger branch. My humble opinion is that someone made a financial decision and forgot the basic premise of "why" Fifth Third is a very successful hometown bank in concert with another Cincy favorite Kroger. Did Fifth Third ask its CUSTOMERS about this decision to close the Kroger bank in Troy??? I doubt it.

The fifth third bank in Holland off Butternut closes more than 10 minutes early consistently on Saturdays. This has prevented me from being able to cash my checks. When they are open until 1 pm they need to stay open until one and stop being such an inconvenience to their customers. I will be switching banks in 2 weeks.

My experience with fifth third bank is horrific. I am not delinquent on any payments whatsoever. They had their lawyer send me letter, giving me 30 days to pay my loan in full or they are starting foreclosure proceedings because I never set up direct deposit.
That is a joke and in times people are facing challenges to keep their homes, this is what they do?

I obtained loan about 7 years ago and they made a mistake on the payment amount. They made my payment $1000 less per month. I noticed it and mentioned it to the bank...in hopes of refinancing...
This is their sneaky way of getting out of the loan... putting me through foreclosure...

This bank has changed drastically in the past few years. It is difficult to speak to anyone on the phone. Expect long waits on hold and never try to reach a branch office as it is very time consuming. The tellers in the branches seem, while trying to be courteous, are under stress. Getting an answer for almost anything takes a considerable amount of time.
I would suggest using another bank if your time is valuable and if you want to be appreciated for the monies you keep in various accounts with little or no interest these days.

I had to leave 5/3 Bank in Nov. 2013 because I had a fraudulent charge on my Visa Account and they would not deal with it. They sent me the same paperwork 3 times to fill out about the incident and then did absolutely nothing about it. 3 months ago, I closed my Safe Deposit box, turned in the key, and emptied it. I did this transaction with the Branch Manager. Today I received a certified piece of mail telling me that I am overdue on my safe deposit rent and now they want a $25.00 late fee. I notice that this Branch has less and less business and I can certainly understand why. I moved all my business 1 mile down the street to Chase Bank and couldn't be happier.

Nate Deroth handled mortgage app. Have sold and bought 3 homes. Never knew you could have this kind of terrible experience. Nerves are shot. Realtors myself my husband. Rarely returns a phone call. Our realtor called him for 10 days before getting a response. Witholds information until last minute,I think at this point on purpose to hold things up. Has cost my family at least $500. in delays. Not to mention others time and money. 2 realtors will be reporting him. Wish we never walked in the branches door.

I received 2 form letters from P. Brian Moore, Sr. V.P. that my account was overdrawn. It was not overdrawn. The teller transferred money from the wrong account. I called customer service and spoke to 3 different people and finally, on today(3/19) I spoke with a supervisor and he was able to correct the problem and reverse ALL fees charged incorrectly. Your teller's need to read first and if there is something they don't understand, they should question. My statement closed on 3/11/04 and I was not aware of this overdraft fees in error until I received my statement on 3/17/14. What happened to the old fashion way of notifying your customers quickly regarding an overdraft or are you that eager to make money? Let's go back to REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

On 3/7/14 I Logged On To 5/3 Bank To Download Banking Info. A Pop-up Window Came Up To Advise My 5/3 Credit Card Had Been Compromised & A New Card Was Being Issued. I Called Customer Service In Michigan & Was Treated So Badly. I Explained I Never Received Any Alert By E-mail & I Have Every Alert From This Bank Set For My Primary E-mail. I First Spoke To Level 1 Customer Service & He Did Not Even Know What I Was Talking About. Then I Spoke To A Supervisor Who Was So Rude And Insensitive To My Upset & Feelings About Not Being Notified. I Was Only Able To Learn The Security Breach Was At A Major Retailer. Ironically, The Last Charge On My M/c Was At Target On 2/27/14. I Was Told I Should Expect These Kinds Of Breaches In Today's World & Wasn't I Lucky That I Logged On To See The Pop-up Window. I Checked My Account & Fortunately So Far There Are No Fraudulent Charges. I Then Called Ohio & Spoke To The "compromised Credit Card" Dept. & Finally Received The Customer Service I Expect From 5/3. She Apologized For The Way I Had Been Treated By The Agents In Michigan. What If I Had Been On Vacation For Awhile & Did Not Even Know My Credit Card Had Been Compromised Because I Do Not Use A Computer When I Am Away From Home? But My E-mail Does Come Through To My Cell Phone. 5/3 Bank Failed Its Customers Miseraly In The Way This Situation Was Handled. I Will Never Shop At Target Again & Am Seriously Considering Withdrawing Everything From 5/3 Bank. I Use 5/3 Bank For All My Financial Needs & Only Use Their Credit & Atm Cards. Good Customer Service Is The Key To Any Business & 5/3 Corporate Officers Need To Consider Training Their Agents To Meet Customer Expectations.

Then never get a phone call back. Wonderful going to close my accounts there today!

I have an auto loan through Fifth Third Bank. I live in Indiana and am required to have insurance to plate a car. The bank asked for paperwork stating my insurance carrier. I mailed them the paperwork. The next thing I know is that I received a new payment book with an increase of $140 per month. I contacted them again . They then wanted my insurance co. to contact the insurance dept.. They did and faxed all the paperwork to them. 5th 3rd Rep stated new installment books would be issued. They did issue new installment books with the same $606.41 monthly payment. It should have been $440.91

In the meantime I have a collection co. calling me for the difference saying I own over $900. I have been making my regular payment of $440.91 on a monthly basis.

I need this corrected and not being threatened by collection co.

I am a hard working individual making regular payments. But I am still receiving letters from Senior Vice President P. Brian Moore with the incorrect information.

Who do need to contact to get this issue cleared up once and for all?

I am a disabled veteran that has been in contact with the mortgage department since the beginning of November. I was trying to be proactive with the property tax rebate for totally disabled veterans. Fast forward December 2nd I contacted 5/3rd to let them know I had changed insurance companies, mortgage customer service told me no problem they had changed the information on my account. December 12th found out 5/3rd had paid wrong insurance company, tried speaking with customer service but they where totally oblivious . Had to go to local office, spoke with mortgage representative, he stated that 5/3rd was going to pay the right insurance company and apologized for the slip up. I was ok with that until they started playing fuzzy math, let me try and explain using rounded figures. I had $1730.00 in my escrow they paid $1660.00 to wrong insurance company, that left $70.00 in my escrow. They then paid the right insurance company $1100.00 which would put my escrow to a negative $1100.00 or at least you would think. Someone decided to add the two insurance payments together as a shortage, so now 5/3rd says I am negative $2760.00 subtracting the remaining $70.00 for a grand total of $2690.00 that I will owe the bank. Which I was sent statement that it has to be paid in full 12/22/2013 or they will increase my monthly payments starting 1/1/2014. Keeping that in mind the city has refunded my taxes of $2100.00 to 5/3rd for me these funds will be subtracted for my mortgage shortage leaving me owing them $590.00. This instead of them owing me the correct amount of $2830.00 which leaves me and my family unable to have a small Christmas. Everyone I talk to says it's not their problem, I feel since they continue to make mistakes it is their problem my only recourse is to roll around in my wheel chair downtown Holland with a large sign letting everyone know what 5/3rd has done. I almost forgot a friend gave us some money to help get by, but the bank will not cash the $100.00 check even though their mistake leaves me without the $2830.00 they owe me.

My husband and I were talked into refinancing THROUGH Emery Federal Credit Union WITH 5th/3rd Bank. WHAT A MISTAKE! First of all, there are no 5th/3rd Bank branches anywhere near our home. Because we don't have a bank account with them, we cannot pay our mortgage on line. They are also very cold and the last person I spoke with spoke so quickly I couldn't understand half of what was spoken. Their whole attitude is "Oh well, deal with it". They are still in the dark ages when it comes to customer service. I cannot believe there is a company out there that does not offer online payments directly to them!! I absolutely HATE this company and if I could, I would get away from them. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER DEALING WITH THESE UNFRIENDLY, COLD INDIVUDUALS.

I had a very cold experience with fifth third banking center at Cincinnati Colerain Krogers. The bank manager (Matt) smirks and is cold, he offered no kind of decent humanity, only offering deeper debt & more ways to get himself into my pockets. I was referred to him by a PB thinking he coud offer me more assistant than they could, only to find out he treated me worse than a warden in a prison, i was very hurt.

Customer service people at 5/3 Monroe NC are very unprofessional. They are about how they can charge fees, and double talking the relivance as it might apply to you but in reality it does not. Confuse the customer and demean them so they may not question them in fear they'll make you feel inadequate and stupid. Jokes on them, because when I have to decide what bank will get my 165,000. Deposit it won't be 5/3. Nor the second or third deposit either. Take that to the bank.......

The customer service at FTB is horrible. I have never experienced customer service this bad in my entire life.

I was with fifth third bank when it was citizens federal. I have been with them for over 30 years. The NEW customer service manager named Erica McCann sent me a letter to close my personal account. I had a problem and everyone at this branch is new. She treated me like crap one day, so I told the manager I didn't like her! Go figure why I would get this letter. My wife passed away less than a year ago, and since then I have had money problems. But I live on a fixed income and I am handicapped. I don't care to go to another bank. But 53 is out of touch with the people who helped them to grow bigger. I called another branch to see if they will take my account. But I am sure this lady has made me out to be worse than I am or the problem was that I took care of.

Fifth Third is totally out of touch with its Customers. The whole Executive Board has isolated its self away from any kind of direct contact from their banking customers. That is a real shame because it let's us as consumer know that they have gone back to their Ivory Tower politics of banking. Being Out-of-Touch is now the regular normal. They DONT want to hear your complaints.
Their Customer Service is simply Robotic, which yields "of-no-use" answers to your most serious questions and problems. There Customer Service is pityful and terrible. It is a real waste of time, unless you have the easiest and simplest problem to solve. Even calling the Branches is better than their customer service.
And Worst of all Fifth Third is using too many third party agents and companies, and there policies used are nothing short of STUPID. Especially the ones that handle there ATM's.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, I am moving my Accounts as of today to a more User Friendly Bank, that is willing to give me access to their Executives to know what are the problems of their Banking Customers.

I was in the Landis, NC branch on Friday, September 28,
2012. Spoke with Dena the branch manager concerning the
new checking accounts. I was informed beginning Feb. 20l2
there would be an $8.00 per month fee if we did not keep
a $1500.00 balance in checking or savings. She asked me
if we had and IRA with them and I told her my husband did.
Dena assured me that we would not be charged a fee.

Then Dena changed our checking account to the enhanced plus.
Did not realize she did that.

Today October 11, 2012 I logged on to the 5/3 internet,
and saw a $20.00 service fee. I need more space.
