Mozilla Corporate Office Comments

I am dropping Mozilla due to your thought police policies. Your treatment of your CEO was outrageous.

Posted by Anonymous

I am dropping Firefox because of the intolerance in your company.
Firing someone for speeking thier opinion is in line with all the other corporate facists you supoosedly stand apart from.

Posted by Anonymous

I have removed Firefox and Thunderbird from all of my computers and will no longer associate myself with your company. I work for a very large international company, known familiarly by it's two initials. I leave it to you to decide about whom I write. I will post on the corporate bulletin board my feelings about the treatment of Mr. Eich and the lack of courage displayed by Mozilla. To allow a hate group to decide who you should have on your payroll is unthinkable. I'll never use any of your products again and I will strive to convince as many others as I can to follow suit. I hope it was worth it.

Mozillas treatment of Brendan Eich was reprehensible. You clearly caved in to radical activists who wish to hear no opinion other than their own. Mozilla should seriously consider strongly apologizing to Mr. Eich and restoring his job at twice the salary!

Posted by Tim Marks

Regarding the forced departure of CEO Brendan Eich...From all reports, Eich treated people fairly, and his actions at Mozilla were above reproach. And yet Mozilla limited *his* opportunity based on his personal beliefs. Ironic, no?

I and my small little business will henceforth make a point of going out of our way to never have anything to do with your company, your products, and anything you are associated with and may gain any benefit from.

I would just like to add my comment to the others, the intolerance that Mozilla has shown to the newly appointed CEO's beliefs have caused me to remove Firefox from my work computer as well as all our laptops at home. It is truly amazing that a company preaches tolerance and diversity yet doesn't allow tolerance for any viewpoint except for that which it endorses.

I will never again use any product by Mozilla.

Just like you made a decision to remove your CEO , I would like to make the same decision regarding Firefox, but for some reason Firefox was designed so I can not remove it from my computer. HELP,HELP,HELP,HELP

Posted by commonesnes

I am removing Mozilla from all my business computers and my family's home computers and laptops. We were early adapters of Mozilla but I am sure Safari can do the job as well or better than Mozilla. Your blatant disregard for Mr. Eich's right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion is intolerable.

Posted by Mmarvin

I am upset by the way Mozilla treated its CEO. In its public statement, Mozilla claims to be tolerant, yet its handling of Mr. Eich shows it to be just the opposite.

I have removed Firefox from all our computers and I will never again use your products.

I was extremely disappointed to learn of Mozilla's action regarding its CEO. This amounts to professional intimidation..."think as we think or you're out!" This man did not espouse his personal beliefs at the workplace but was treated as if he had climbed on a desk and shouted anti-gay statements. I was under the impression that in America we were allowed to have political opinions without fear of retribution...but not at Mozilla. You are the epitome of intolerance!

Posted by benkunjr

Have removed your browser from all of my computers due to your recent intolerant decisions concerning your CEO.

Posted by Civilitee

I am deeply troubled by Mozilla's decision to terminate Brendan Eich because of his personal viewpoints regarding marriage. I will no longer use your web browser. Your actions constitute social Communism. You have shown no tolerance of divergence of opinion from your own or those of your select vendors. You shot yourself in the foot by terminating a CEO who appears to be quite accomplished and dedicated to Mozilla. Is this the America we want to live in? Where people have to live in fear of making private donations of funds to causes they believe in, because they may lose their jobs, be sued, or be threatened in other ways? Are you enforcing your code of intolerance against all of your employees, the way you did against your CEO? Why are you so quick to judge? You should take a close look at yourselves and realize that what you did was downright wrong and inconsistent with the culture of technology, where collaboration is key, and downright offensive in America.

Posted by Anonymous

As with manny others, I am appalled at your intolerance. I have for years used firefox and thunderbird, not any more, and I will inform my customers, (i own and run a pc repair service) of your intolerance. We are supposed to be tolerant of your immoral life styles and your beliefs but, but you unjustly are intolerant of our beliefs. What hypocrites you are.

Posted by [email protected]

Your "intolerance" to other's views is mind-boggling and I am terminating my account immediately with such a narrow-minded corporation that not only suppresses free speech, but would ruin someone's life-long career by snooping into their personal contributions to see who they "align with."
Despicable!

Posted by los angeles gym addict

I can't believe you are so intolerant of someone else's belief that you would fire someone, not because of his work performance but because of what he does privately.

I will no longer use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.

Posted by Disappointed

WOW! What a stupid move!

I'm joining many others removing Firefox on my company's computers.

I am very sad and displeased.

Posted by Anonymous

Because of your company's lack of tolerance in forcing out your irreplaceable CEO, I removed Firefox from my computer. The "take no prisoners" tactics of the Gay/Lesbian" political movement has run it's course. People are beginning to the real hate of the behind gays/lesbians. The tide is turning, e.g., Duck Dynasty."
Shameful.

Just like you can make a decision to remove someone, I to can make the same decision, Firefox in no longer my internet browser!

As a corporation you should have stood behind your CEO's right to express himself under the 1st amendment in a personal non-business manner. Your board of directors was gutless and cowardly and let a good honorable man resign for having the same views in 2008 as our President and Hillary Clinton. You should have rallied to his side, rather than kick his behind out the door.Gutless Cowards one and all.You had the chance to do the right thing and you chose to do the wrong thing instead. Shameful.

So long Firefox. I do not trust a company that claims to promote freedom of speech that then turns around and gets rid of their CEO because he does not believe the "right things". People often say things that I do not like, that I oppose, that go against my moral beliefs, but they have a RIGHT to that speech without fear of retribution like loosing a job. Freedom of speech to you folks means only allowing that which is accepted dogma of the left. Hypocrits.

Posted by RC

I am very disturbed that free speech is not tolerated by the Mozilla Corporation. I have used firefox as long as I can remember but because of your stand against free speech I will no longer doing so.

I hope that the people of this country realize that our freedoms are slowly being taken away. It is time that the people of this country stand up to those like Mozilla by boycotting and spreading the word that Mozilla is the organization of intolerance.
Stop Using Mozilla Products!

Posted by Discusted

Due to your organizations intolerance to diversity of values, freedom of expression, speech and difference of opinion we are removing all Mozilla products from our computers and urging our friends and customers to do the same. Your actions do not mach your stated policy.

Posted by Anonymous

The recent termination of Mr. Eich smacks of a high degree of Intolerance by Mozilla management. You may want to remove your web page statement..."Doing Good is part of our Code" for it appears to be counter to your actions.

Posted by Anonymous

I have just removed your software from my computer, as my way of expressing displeasure over the way you handled the termination of your CEO

Posted by DMCG

The last organization that persecuted and fired people because of their religious beliefs was the NSDAP (Nazis). Since you obviously are ignorant of history. I suggest you google these kindred spirits.

Posted by kdahl

Dear Mozilla,

I think it is shameful that your organization would force a resignation of someone clearly who helped form who and what you are all about. You saw something in your CEO to move him to this level within your organization based on his proven ability to do his work and commitment to your organization for over 15 years.

Political tide will ebb and flow. Standing behind someone for their proven track record as a business should have been your stance. Did he do anything inappropriate in the workplace? Certainly the answer is NO. I have been a user for Firefox for many years and I will now take my business elsewhere.

Some claim to allow people freedom of speech and independent thought. This is not an issue of which side of the position people have on gay marriage. The issue is someones personal beliefs being trampled on public opinion and the lack of backbone your organization has in defending someones work ability, work ethics, and work loyalty. Clearly there will be more back blow to your organization from the majority who think you are dead wrong!

Mozilla:

Your recent actions against Mr. Eich for opposing gay marriage reflect opposition to the principle of freedom of speech, and intolerance for the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. As you are probably ignorant of this particular teaching, I quote it here for you:

Chastity and homosexuality

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

Catechism of the Catholic Church, Canons 2357 - 2359

I can no longer support the Mozilla community by using your products, and am now terminating my use of Firefox and Thunderbird until such time as your community exhibits support for freedom of speech and tolerance for Christian teaching.

Posted by Annon

What kind of corporate culture forces out anyone for personally held beliefs? I am in favor of marriage between a man and woman. I have no issues with the gay life style. Clearly, I am not the kind of user you want for your products. I am removing Fire Fox and discontinuing any use or affiliation with your products.

The most intolerant corp in America. CEO has her head so far up her Orwellian ass she needs toilet paper to wipe her mouth.

I will never use Firefox again.

I see you accept 'diversity' as long as YOU can control and dictate just what the diversity is and looks like. If it doesn't fit into your narrow-minded viewpoint... eradicate it! As long as you can eliminate anyone AND everyone that doesn't think as you do, believes in what you do, talks like you do, walks like you do... that is your idea of diversity. Of course your definition of diversity has nothing to do with acceptance, tolerance, courage, unselfishness, common sense, morality, or humanity. Yes! I said humanity. You and your ilk are nothing but radical bullies. Not because in what you believe, but in your goal to destroy anyone that has a difference of opinion.

I, like many others, have no further use for you or your products. I truly hope JUSTICE will be done in this and every other 'scorched-earth' radical injustice.

I have removed your browser from my computer, along with Thunderbird. I have no complaints with either program but I do take exception to your shoddy treatment of Brendan Eich, who was forced to resign because his personal views APPEARED to be at odds with prevailing left-wing Silicon Valley sentiment. Mr. Eich's opinions, whatever they may be, are his own affair and should not be held accountable by the minions of knee-jerk, flavor-of-the-month political correctness. If it turns out that Mr. Eich's job performance was in fact hampered by his personal views, then I may reconsider the decision to avoid all Mozilla products. In the meantime, I view actions such as yours against Mr. Eich to be a flagrsnt violation of the fundamental American right to freedom of thought and expression.

Posted by Krapes1

Andrew Sullivan, wrote in response to your hypocritical view "This is a repugnantly illiberal sentiment. It is also unbelievably stupid for the gay rights movement. You want to squander the real gains we have made by argument and engagement by becoming just as intolerant of others' views as the Christianists? You've just found a great way to do this. It's a bad, self-inflicted blow. And all of us will come to regret it."
I guess the standard Mozilla uses is that people should be fired if they disagree with your political views. Half the country should fire the other half. This is the same situation for you Mozilla that Cracker Barrel put it self in recently. I am taking your content off of my computer until such time that you respect the right of all people to have an opinion personally as long as it does not spill over into your day to day business. Might I add that in trying to appease one segment of your business you have surely aleinated the other half. I am sure that you do not need my business and I guess you are now the new Cracker Barrel because you are now intolerant to the other half of your customer base by favoring the other half..

Count me as one that will no longer use your product until you realize that tolerance is a two-way street.

Supporting traditional marriage, something that has been the norm for thousands of years, and has nothing to do with being anti-gay, somehow is against what Mozilla stands for?

Since that is the case I won't support you or your product.

I, too, am outraged by your lack of support for freedom of speech! You should be ashamed of what you did because I am! I will search to find advertisers or any company/corporation who advertises, supports, etc. your company and will be sure the information is shared on any and all social media that I subscribe to! Trust that YOU will suffer the consequences of bowing to this witch hunt!

Mozilla makes the false claims on their web site "Doing good is part of our code."

Mozilla fosters hate and intolerance and is against free speech.

I am uninstalling Firefox.

Posted by California Business Owner

I am sorry to find out that Mozilla Corporation, (Firefox) is against free speech. We've been using your browser for 7-years and we are responsible for bringing you hundreds of users. However, today we removed your icon from all of the computers in the company. We will never use your browser until you realize what you've done. We're independent. We believe in gay rights. We also believe in justice, diversity, equality, tolerance, inclusiveness and the U.S. Constitution. We don't believe in hypocrisy, bullying and intimidation. Mozilla Corporation has shown itself guilty of all of those acts. We cannot continue supporting Mozilla Corporation after the unAmerican intolerance of forcing CEO Brendan Eich out over his personal beliefs. Your browser is now in the Recycle Bin and ready to be deleted forever.

We will urge our friends and associates to do the same. Mozilla does not deserve the support of the American people.

Good bye Mozilla Corporation & Firefox.

Your browser is in my trash icon. I have no issue with gay marriage. But like gay columnist Andrew Sullivan, I have an issue with Brown Shirt tactics. You have succumbed to a modern version of the Night of the Broken Glass when Jews were beset by Nazis and prevented from earning their livelihood because of their lawful religious beliefs. This is totalitarianism. And I hope your former executive sues you for violation of the 1964 Civil Rights act, which prevents discrimination based on religious beliefs.

Now, if you latte sipping cowards are going to be consistent, you need to fire every employee who contributed to the campaign of Obama in 2008 -- as he held the same belief as your former chairman all the way until 2012.

I am sorry to find out that Firefox is against free speech. The latest episode on the firing of the CEO because of a personal donation 4 years ago for proposition 8 is inexcusable for a any democratic institution. Your hate for free speech is appalling. I for one believe that marriage is only between a man and woman. It is the only relationship that can be consummated. I intend to remove Firefox from my computer.

Posted by had-enough

I can't remember using any browser but Firefox. However, I cannot continue supporting Mozilla after its unAmerican and intolerant action of forcing its CEO out over his personal beliefs protected by our Constitution. Mozilla is no better the intolerant outfit they listened to.

I will uninstall my copy and urge my friends to do the same. Mozilla does not deserve the support of the American people.

Bye bye Mozilla. It's time to put you out of business. Your Board of Directors and C Suite is getting ready to experience Armageddon. Are you afraid of losing 10% of your business? How about 60% of your business? Can you survive that? You chose not to stand behind your CEO and it will come back to haunt you. Poor leadership is common now days. Just ask General Motors, J.C. Penney, etc., etc. You want to "right a wrong"? Then hire your CEO back! Otherwise, BYE BYE!

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for over 10 years; it's always been my go-to browser for both personal and business use. Today I removed it from all of our computers and I will never use it again regardless of you may say or do, or how sorry you may be at a later date when you realize what you've done. I'm an independent. I believe in gay rights. I also believe in justice, diversity, equality, tolerance, inclusiveness AND the Constitution. What I don't believe in is hypocrisy, double-standards, exclusiveness, bullying and intimidation. You are guilty of all of those things. What you have done is actually a setback for gay rights and for that I'm really sorry,. (You have no idea how much I've restrained myself in writing to you ..... and I believe I'm not alone in that.)

I am sad to see that once again tolerance only means "if you agree with my views". Since you cannot accept differing opinion and love those who feel different than you do, you expose yourselves as Hippocrates. I'm tiring of intolerant people and the companies they work for. I will find a more accepting browser that truely believes in love and tolerance of EVERYONES beliefs.

Posted by rondasexton

I have had Mozilla Firefox for about ten years now, even though I love everything about the program, I have decide to remove it from all my computers due to the forcing of the resignation of their CEO for not supporting gay marriages. I think a person should not have to worry about their job because of their beliefs. I hope that everyone will ban Mozilla Firefox, not because you support/ nor support gay marriages, but for the simple reason that here in what is left of America, we have the right to support whom ever/ what ever we decide.

Posted by Anonymous

Firefox has been taken off all of my computers as of today because of the fascist teatment toward someone who supports traditional marriage. I will urge all of my friends to do the same.

Posted by seven kids

I have Firefox on my home computer. It will be gone this evening. I am appalled that someone would be fired when they are highly intelligent, competent and capable of the job, due to merely having given $1,000 to support something they believe. If we all treated, boycotted, fired, banned and manipulated everyone we knew when they held a belief that differed from our own...there'd probably be no one left in any of our circle of associations. You mean to tell me we all HAVE to agree on everything in order to retain a job that you qualify for and have earned through years of sacrifice and dedication and skill. Unbelievable. This is getting scary. What are we becoming in American Corporations...the thought police now. Coercion in all it's forms is very ugly. This is blatant evil. Badly done, Mozilla...badly done...defending freedom on all sides would have been a better move...stay consistent with your beliefs if you have any.

I too am not happy with the treatment of Brendan Eich. Regardless of one's position on the issue, forcing a resignation is not acceptable. Just what has his views on the issue to do with his ability to manage the operation?? Apparently he has been successful for some years now while holding his views on various issues.

Posted by Anonymous

Dumping all things Mozilla after the way you treated Brendan Eich. Apparently, your organization does not support free speech but is only supportive of politically correct speech and politics. American workers should be able can think, speak, and give to whomever they want--no matter how disgusting the recipient-- without fearing repercussions in the workplace.
Shame on you.

Mozilla has come out strongly in support of stepping on employees' First Amendment Rights and disallowing free thought and ideas. People who don't think the same as they hysterical masses are not wanted at Mozilla. I will never use Mozilla for anything.

MOZILLA FIREFOX

Monday, 24 March 2014
5pm Hawaii Standard Time

For several years, I have been a very satisfied customer with Mozilla Firefox and recommended you to my family and friends.

However, I recently bought a new HP Windows 7 computer and have been unsuccessful in my attempts to install the most updated version of Mozilla Firefox. I need your verbal assistance, but I see you offer no telephone assistance.

I did follow the steps and believed I installed the most current Mozilla Firefox version; however, when I clicked the icon on my desktop, it tells me Mozilla Firefox is "out of date" and I'm in the "safe mode."

I respectfully request verbal assistance.

What is your recommendation?

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am using Mozilla Firefox browser for several years without a problem. Suddenly I can not get an internet connection.

I just want to mention that your support web site is one of the worst and user unfriedliest I came across. To find a contact number or e-mail address is nearly impossible.

Best regards

ps.: Take Nortons / Symantecs support site as an example, this how support whoould work, customer friendly.
