Treated very poorly today while on vacation in Florida. Sign misrepresented the price of gas and they claim the sign was broken. They could have turned the sign off. Refused to issue a refund so we have issued a complaint to the Florida Attorney General. Tried to call the station to warn them but no calls would go through. At the very least the sign needs to be fixed or turned off and the phone needs fixed and/or updated

store #11

The "Patel's" there are dreadful and unprofessional. There are countless interactions there that have made me cringe, but nothing as spiteful and hurtful as on Memorial Day. They upset me to the point of having to take this time out to make sure it's been at least documented once.

To be honest, I have NO FAITH IN THIS PROCESS. By this I mean, I do not believe anything will change at this location. Please, prove me wrong, but the culture and staff must be addressed.

Let me list some actions I've personally witnessed at this station from ALL THE STAFF! The culture there is to:
berate the customers
hurry the customers
yell at customers
not replenish stock for customers
not maintaining clean bathrooms for customers
not displaying bathroom log for customers
not being professional to customers
speaking about customers in other languages in front of customers (Hindi mostly)

BUT... this isn't my issue. I am contacting you all to inform that my Capital One Mastercard has been cloned from this gas station, twice.
I conveniently like stopping at this station, because its right at the turn into my neighborhood. I have stopped going here not only for the TERRRRRRIBLE people that work there, the dirty station, overfilled trash cans, dirty windshield water, broken air machine, inaccurate gas price display, and terrible lighting at night (to name a few).

This place needs a restart. It's by far the worse Sunoco I have ever visited. There is another Sunoco in Bartow that is the complete opposite of this.

If I were Sunoco, I would be embarrassed to know you have store operators like these under your umbrella staining the good fabric of the Sunoco brand.

Do what you will with this intel. I do wish something positive comes out of this email, in favor of the customer and Sunoco. The Patel's need to reevaluate why they got into the business. They should be ashamed of themselves and so should Sunoco for employing staff like them.

Last night I went into the Sunoco on Madison in Covington the cashier lady was rude started yelling becuse I forgot to get my cigarettes I have been in that store daily almost everyday and everything this same Lady is rude not with only customers but with another employee who was there that lady has always been so kind and helpful and Becky had her in tears in my opinion rudeness to customers are not good more less to the other employees

The cashier at the Corinth ky exit thought she was going to pull a fast one on me as well. Rang up my card , told my husband it didn't go through, naturally he had her re ring it. Both times were charged for 23.97 . Continued to tell my husband it never went through. She took his items , he never received what he purchased and my card was yet again rang up , but this time she voided the 3rd charge just to give my husband a receipt that read voided on it so he walked away. I looked at the time on all of them. Only the third charge was voided. She kept the money. Try calling up there, phone is disconnected. THIS IS COMPLETELY REDICULIUS AND IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. SO I NOTIFIED THE ATTIRNEY GENERALS OFFICE!!

Wheelersburg, Ohio..cashier thought she is going to rip off my debit card. Purchase was $3.33 for two sodas..it never showed in records, of course no receipt! But She took $31.27 off my card for gas although we purchased NO gas..I did not know they did this, till I tried to pay for another purchase at a different store. They refused to cooperate with me and manager yelled at me..so I'm starting actions against the two of them..this happened too fast and I imagine others have been done the same way!

Last night a man in your store that works there was being very racist and disrespectful towards me. I feel uncomfortable because he tried to come around the counter on me because he doesn't know price ranges in the store

I stopped by Sunoco gas station July 14 2021 2:07pm and a white male started to cash me out and became very rude and racist towards me when a white lady cut him off and finish taking care of me that I truly appreciate he refused to give me his name so I'm just still going to write my complain as in another customer witnessed it also Sunoco on plank road and empire Rochester New York Webster ny

On 6/29 my fiance and I visited the sunoco on our way home from work, as we do frequently. Unfortunately tonight was not like our usual stops. My fiance was preparing a drink from the soda fountain apon doing her drink slipped from her hand causing the drink to spill on the floor. Unfortunately she has issues gripping with her hands at random times due to arthritis. There was an older lady working in which was extremely displeased by the accident. She Immediately started giving horrible uncalled for attitude to my fiance and myself. As soon as I seen the spill I nicely offered any assistance as to clean up the mess and again was given attitude. Eventually the lady actually started yelling at the both of us as she was trying to dispose of the cup and get another drink. NEVER have I witnessed an entrusted employee act out in a way that left my fiance feeling ashamed, frightened, and embarrassed as her disease is not something that can be controlled. If the flipping out from the employee wasn't bad enough, there were other customers in there that had to witness the negative behavior and attitude given to my fiance and myself. I was a manager at one time in customer service, never did I think i would witness that type of behavior from an employee, especially of her age. My fiance is one of many who suffers from a specific illness that could cause an accident such as a spilled beverage. I would hope that not one person ever had to feel the way my fiance felt tonight after our encounter at this sunoco by this employee. I will do everything in my power to make sure nobody does by making tonight's incident known publicly. With my only intention is to keep anyone from feeling this way I will be sure to steer anyone away from this specific store during the night shift, or any shift this specific employee may be working on. And to be sure I will be the first to admit I gave this employee the same type of attitude back as was given to us. I am in disbelief, shocked, and upset that I will have to visit another store from know on.

Sadly, my son was terminated for not showing up to work on a set day. His wife had a baby at 28 weeks which was critical timing. He went with his wife to Austin and he was terminated the same day. Such a sorry company that don't give a crap about employed. Sorry low life trash. Hope you crash going to your golf course.

Never ever had I seen an employee argueing with the customer over the receipt machine, all I did ask him a question are you going to charge me an extra 1.50 than he argued with me that I pussed the wrong button. You don't argue with customer's and you definitely don't argue with me over you religion Ali it's not Ali anyway it's Jesus he's the one that died for our sin's so we can be saved; so he kept on argueing so I told him Ali is dead Jesus is alive forever more somebody should tell him don't argue with the customers and don't argue over region.

Hello how is everyone at the corporate office doing? I hope all is well with everyone! My name is Antoinette. My grandmother went to your business on Cherry street in Toledo, Ohio, I believe the address is 3401, but I may be mistaken. Anyways, she went there twice within a two hour span, and both times your cashier charged my 88 yr old grandmother a dollar extra. Now that might not sound like a lot to you, but if you keep adding it up, well a penny is to much to take if it doesn't belong to you. No one such take advantage of the elderly for any reason! I'm wandering how many other people has this cashier done this too! I will tip your cashiers from time to time! But a thief will lose you business! I will be the first to go! And, I'd inform others off the stealing! I hope I am wrong!

SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE SUNOCO ON SOUTH ROAN STREET IN JOHNSON CITY TN!!!! Is ANYONE at a corporate level aware that that location is locally known as "The Crack Mart"? That should tell you all you need to know. I live right beside it but after so many horrible experiences I will NOT go after dark and my husband won't go at all. Now, unless something happens, neither will I. Drug dealers and homeless use it as a front, a hangout etc. They harass customers for money, for rides, and can be intimidating. I mean nothing against homeless people in general, the ones I'm referencing are the ones who leave all their stuff scattered all about the walkways and inside the store, the ones who obviously suffer from mental problems and harass customers, the drug dealers and customers, and the ones who come in droves and are loud, obnoxious, on something more often than not, and obviously own the place the way they act entitled and stay for hours and hours. Not to mention the insanely rude employees--for starters the girl during the day who never wears a mask, and the horrible a**hole who works overnight and is the breaking point for me today. I have never had a pleasant experience with him. He has let people cut in front of me without a word, there was one time a drunk girl cut me and I did say excuse me, I was next, to which he informed me that well she was purchasing alcohol and he was about to announce to the line of idk 8 people or more in the line he was about to have all those who were getting alcohol to come up first as it was a couple minutes before the cut off for selling alcohol. I am 36 years old. I have never EVER had a gas station employee do that. It is not my fault nor the stations fault if they don't get there in time to purchase alcohol. I'd already been waiting in that line for an inordinate amount of time and then to be deliberately cut in front of then told that??? He is also incredibly rude, and seemingly increasingly so. I want to talk to someone about this store. I know you all HAVE to know some of this-- police are a VERY regular occurrence there, they know that store WELL. But*you*are*losing*customers*business*MONEY and the LEAST you can do is something about the employees!!!!!!! Enough is enough!!! I've been in public/customer service areas for over 20 years, I am the MOST understanding and forgiving person there is!!! That has GOT to tell you SOMETHING about how freaking HORRIBLE THIS STORE IS!!!!!!!!

She left from behind the counter and kept trying to approach me! By calling me a white b****! She was so rude and in professional from the start..The way the store is being ran there isn't safe for no one!!!! People outside bumming all the time..most of the employees are so rude there you can't even get have a good day!!!! Smh it's sad..I'm going all the way!!! Terrible terrible store!

I just stopped for coffee and gas at my local Sunoco gas station in Monroe, New York and saw that the price went up .22 cents for regular. This price, I was told, was raised before the hurricane hit the gulf coast and is not competitive with other stations in Monroe. This is price gouging and I intend to report it to the proper local and state agency's. It dos not show Sunoco in a good light; it indicates greed and disrespect to the local community.

Thank you

Can someone tell me why the station at 798 Haddonfield-Berlin Road Cherry Hill NJ will not accept my valid Sunoco card. For weeks I'm told machine not working now I'm told owner has problems with Sunoco. They have no other problems taking other bank cards. Make them take your signage down!

The Sunoco on 93rd near Laisy has very unprofessional workers. The lady that works in the kitchen is very rude and very unprofessional. I have came into the store multiple times to purchase food and she has never asked to help me or offer to take my order. I had to get out of the food line and come to the register for the gentleman at the register to fix my food. I am very unhappy and dissatisfied with the degree of customer service ethics that this store shows. I come in this store daily due to me working close by. I hope that this matter gets resolved or I will use my freedom of speech and have a protest for people to not shop there.

We live on the 7th floor of the Avery apartments in Pompano Beach. From our perch we view the rooftops of the Sunoco station at Federal and 4th. The gas pump roof canopy is rusting; the store roof is worn and unsightly as Iare the building walls. A good paint job would remedy these problems and Improve our view. Even in time of plague, some care for our surroundings matter. Can you help?

on Tuesday June 2, I pulled into the Sunoco in Bellmawr NJ (right off of Route 42 in NJ), I said to the attendant "10 dollars cash - 10", he filled it up and walked away as he was talking on his cell phone...I looked at the pump, and it was at 12 dollars and still going, by the time I got his attention it was at 20 dollars, so I said, to him, "I asked for 10", he said to me "you said to fill it up", I said "you calling me a liar?, we exchanged more words, and I gave him 20 dollars (like I said I wanted 10), told him you need to pay attention to your customers instead of talkimg on the phone, he didn't like that at all...bottom line, it was only 20 dollars , but apparently the motto - the customer is always right - never made it to his bulletin board, I will never go to that Sunoco again,, the man was probably in his late fifties, foreigner, and more concerned about making phone calls than paying attention to his customers

I went into your establishment in Bechtelsville pa on 4-21-2020 the girl behind the counter had no mask on and a guy was hanging out in there not an employee talking to her with no mask why do i have to wear a mask to shop there but your employee doesn't? When it was mentioned to her by another customer why she didn't have one she rudely ignored us

Your store at 1140 Lyell Avenue in Rochester NY was turning away customers last night 4/15/2020 around 9:30 p.m. if they did not have on masks. Now I know the pandemic is scary and we all should be safe. The Governor Cuomo just announced on the news earlier that everyone must have on a mask in public and to be turned around if they enter businesses with out any. But he also stated this was not mandatory until Friday 4/17/2020. They turned my daughter away and she came back to the car upset. So I grabbed my mask and we into the store myself. The ladies that were working are always rude and disrespectful. And if we are really concerned about the virus, this location definitely needs to be cleaned and wiped down as I am there quite frequently.

The Sunoco station @ 2301 W Hwy 190 Livingston Tx 77351
Always has the gas pump price 1-3 cents higher than there neon advertisement board. Guess iit time to contact my localAtyorney General's Office.... this is unfairly getting extra money from there customers. I will no longer be one if those customers

In August 2017, Hurricane Harvey devastated the southern coast of the US. The refineries in the Texas/Louisiana area were shut down for safety and the price of gasoline skyrocketed. It is now mid-November. Your refineries are back on line, except the ones on scheduled maintenance. So what is your excuse for maintaining the ridiculous gas prices, still 40 to 55 cents above the pre-Harvey incident?
Can you justify this price-gouging? Haven't you robbed us enough? It is difficult enough to et by on a fixed income without you people squeezing every nickel out of us.

I went into to the Sunoco at Sycamore on Morgantown Road in Uniontown. I purchased to scratch off lottery tickets. I scratched them and one was for 50 dollars. I went back into to cash and the cashier said that the tickets were never scanned into the system prior to putting them in the machine so therefore he could not pay me my winnings. I insisted that he call his manager and the manager said that they will have to scan them in the system tomorrow. So therefore I have to be inconvenienced because one of your managers did not do their job correctly. There should always be someone on shift that can handle these types of screw ups so that the customer is not inconvenienced. Now I have to wait until tomorrow for them to get around to scanning the book into the system so that I can get paid. Which means it will take more gas for me to go out and make another trip to a gas station to get my winnings. Hopefully they will get them scanned into the system in a timely manner in the morning. The cashier said that the manager was not on in the morning. I guess the assistant manager will be there.

I worked for Stop-N-Go formerly operated by Sunoco as their parent company, for 10 years, then I was adopted into Sunoco Maintenance when Stop-N-Go was closed, I have to tell you I thought Stop-n-Go was a great place to work, then I went to Sunoco and it was awesome working there, except for 1 person, who is the reason I retired, I can't say enough about the Management team I was lucky enough to work for in Maintenance, then at the Terminal, best job I ever had, most wonderful group of people ever to work for, I worked at Sunoco and Stop n Go a total of 24 years, I wanted to stay til 30 but there was a back stabber I worked for that I just couldn't deal with the way he was eliminating people to climb his ladder. If you were a threat to him you were gone.

Just want to let you know what a wonderful employee you have at the Sunmart Sunoco in New Haven, IN. I accidentally dropped my credit card after fuelling my car today, and your manager "Naresh" saw the card on the ground, ran out and picked it up, and held it until I discovered that it was missing and called the station. I went back, got my card and thanked Naresh over and over. He was very humble and was just glad that he found it and could give it back. This young man deserves your praise and a "Job well Done" from the corporation. He is AWESOME!!

Today i went into an A-plus Sunoco located in West Palm Beach, FL. on Southern Blvd. and Jog Rd. There is a female cashier employed there (Anet is here name) that is continually rude to customers that are not of her own race. My husband and i have witnessed numberous incidents where Anet will wait on Hispanic customers but will walk away without a word when anyone else is ready to pay.

This happened to my husband recently; he was behind a customer that the cashier chose to wait on. When it was his turn, he put his items on the counter and said hello to her. She gave him a sour look and walked away to stock cigarettes, which happened to be full already.

Today i went in to grab a couple of breakfast sandwiches and a drink. When i took my items to the counter for purchase, Anet overcharged me for two iced teas. I told her that the sign reflected a sale price of 2 for $4. She informed me that her computer scanner says otherwise.

I pointed to the sign across the room that was clearly visible from where she was standing. She looked at it and said "yeah i know." I explained to her that the proper protocol in this situation is to honor it; she responded with "yeah i should," then proceeded to quote me the sales total...without the discount.

I told her that i didnt want the iced teas anymore and she gave me a dirty look. I was upset at this point and told she could have had the price overridden by a manager. She just stared at me.

I have read a lot of the posts on this site and see that there is an apparent problem with the type of people that Sunoco chooses to hire. If i acted that way to a customer at my job, i would probably be fired. Please do the right thing here and employees of your company know that customer service is a priority in retaining faithful customers, not rudeness and indifference.

I live in Johnson City Tennessee we go to Sunoco on broadway street Johnson City tn 37601 daily past month they don't keep their grill cooking like they should with their tornadoes and never hardly have small milks and rude my family is regulars daily two to three times a day but thinking of switching to Scotsman they are more respectful just liked you're quality of food better I'm handicap and raising two teenage boys

I will never step foot in your Northumberland pa store again I have been going there every day for 14 years and you have the rudest employee working there her name is Tammy I was so shocked at her foul language and to be taking to her boss like that in front of people in the store I would have fired her on the spot...I asked for a recipt and she printed it out and threw it in my face she is totally rude and by the way my company has sunoco fleet cards and we get our gas there all the time well not any more there is a velaro right down from your store and I will be cancelling my cards and going there...I would suggest she be fired and maybe I would consider going back

I have an AplusSunoco store within 1 mile of home. I have been a loyal customer for the past 11 years. After tonight I will never step foot in these one of these stores again! There's a mobile right across the street thank you. And another mobile even closer than that.
I was threatened by A Sunoco employee. I guess I didn't move out of her way fast enough while she was mopping she told told me she was going to slap me if I didn't move. Just to be clear I asked her if she said she was going to slap me if I didn't get out of her way and she proudly said yes.
Wow I'm shocked.
If this is the way this employee is acting then that says a lot about her character I wonder what kind of criminal background this person has. What kind of crazy, unstable people are you hiring?

Being a truck driver I'm on the road for a majority of the year, and I can admit. I get an attitude with lots a people. Understanding this I can understand when the person attending me returns with a smart remark. I visit this Sunoco Allentown Service Plaza 7087 quite a bit for diesel and coffee since it is on my routes. The coffee is fantastic but you would think a truck stop would offer free coffee to any trucker that fuels up at their location. Not here and all hours of the day the cashiers seem high speaking with vulgar language even with children around. Now the odor of marijuana is unnecessary.

Warming attention women traveling alone do not patronize any Sunoco
Gas stations especially A+ service station on Cross Bay Blvd in Queens NY

After stopping at this particular Sunoco location in the middle of the night I grabbed my putse but I locked my keys cell phone in my car. Afternoons a purchase I explained my plight to the store owner and asked if I could use thier phone to call my home for help . The owner of A+ refused to help me he said no phone not for customers go down the street and use the pay phone. Crazy I know but unbelievable to live in this wonderful country of outs and we have animals like this owning a business well after an lengthily horrible and life changing exprience by chance two of NY City's Finest walked into the store and saved my life from these pathetic men DON'T PATRONIZE THIS STORE

This was not on the door, but it was ok for a man with a do rag on his head and sunglasses on to be in the store and we had to wait so he could run out to his car to get change for his smokes and was still .10 short, the cashier said ok and they would meet up later....WHAT !!!! We will never go in this store again !!!!!!!!!!!

Store 3615 Orangeburg,SC has terrible customer service. We pumped 600.00 in fuel took our money and had to wait 15 min for receiving a receipt. Young ladies were rude. This cost us a delay and money. Restrooms were also very nasty.

I saw sunoco at 14005 Madison ave. In Lakewood, ohio had gas for $3.039, so I stopped on my way to work to fuel up (@ 550 pm). I begin pumping fuel and hear over a loud speaker pumps 1 and 2 are full service pumps. I had no idea I was at a full service pump (comment could have been directed towards anyone) till I looked at the pump and saw I was paying $3.589 for fuel. What a scam!!! No one came out of the station to give me any full service, or bothered to see if I realized I was paying $3.58....too late once I realized loud speaker message was directed towards me...I was almost full. I'm a police officer and find this practice to be deceptive to customers. I would appreciate the 55 cent refund to my account for the 11 gallons of gas I purchased.
Possibly have those pumps inactive until customers notified it's full service only... I mean really...who has fuul service pumps any more!!! Nicefor those that truly need it (disbled or elderly) bUT they weren't distinguishable from the other pumps other then a small sticker - who truly reads the signs on pumps!!

I will not stop at a Sunoco unless I am out of gas and there is NOT another gas station ANYWHERE around! My husband and I, along with our four children were traveling overnight from Connecticut to North Carolina. We stopped at the Sunoco in Woodbridge, VA. on Prince William Parkway to get gas, snacks and most importantly, go to the restroom! Since traveling with four children, we stopped at the largest, most well lit gas station we could find...only to find that the doors were locked and a sign on the door (with small print) that bathrooms were unavailable.

So, there is several parts to my complaint...

I called the store to find out that you lock the doors from 11-5 due to high robberies at that location; however, there is other solutions!

One, entirely close the store for those hours and turn off your lights so that you aren't FALSE advertising!

Two, hire more staff and/or a security guard for those hours so that you can still be a FULL service convenient store that you advertise to be by having all your lights on!

Since we do most of our traveling overnight to avoid the high traffic time periods; I will no longer EVER go to a Sunoco station to start with...as I see no reason to have to 'risk' having to stop at a second location to find a restroom; especially when you don't know that the doors are locked until you get out of the car and to the door (and already have gotten a four year old out of the car seat!), that I might add had an accident by the time we got her reloaded and to another gas station...

I also will add to this that the store clerk should have been able to clearly see that we had four kids, were traveling a long distance as we had a roof luggage carrier FULL, not to mention that our tag was a police tag with an FOP decal on it, as my husband is a Tulsa Oklahoma Police Officer...we have already traveled over 3500 miles on this vacation and still have over 1500 to go...Sunoco will not get our business again...

My girl friend and I stopped at the Sunoco station on mt rose ave in York pa, when we got to the counter I noticed the attendant laying on the ground in front of the registrar, fearing the worst, we called the police. As we waited for them to arrive I tried to speak with the attendant, after several attempts to revive him, he awoke, turns out he was drunk and passed out! This happened on Sunday the 6th of July on the night shift. The police also ascertained he was under the influence as well. I don't know if any action has been taken, but I thought you should know what goes on at this store

my 18 year old son and friends stopped at sunoco at the cheesequake rest stop mile 123. They had little money and asked for 2.35 worth of gas which would be enough to take them home. the attendant put in 35.00. My son called me very upset and I spoke to the attendant who told me that they tried to scam him by saying 2.35. I told him it was his misunderstanding but i would pay for the gas. he demanded i come down now and pay in cash. i told him i was handicapped and offered my lic and credit card number. He was extremely rude. He deliberately put in the wrong amount of gas or he misunderstood even though he saw two dollar bills in the drivers hand. You need to speak to your employees. I would like to know what you will do about this. My son came home got the money and went back and paid this scammer. The manager said the attendant was KRIS. Can I expect any action from you at all?

While filling my gastank, I wanted to clean the windshield & headlights, but there was no fluid in any of the 4 cleaning stations. Went inside to ask for fluid and was told that he was just the nightshift. He made no offer to provide fluid & told me that people buy fluid to clean. I am very upset with this attitude & will never purchase gas there again. I hope that this is not your corporate position. I would think that the windshield cleaning station is there for the convenience of the customers and that you would expect that your employees inspect these stations regularly. There is no excuse for all four stations to be empty. This is just plain laziness & lack of caring. I hope that you will address this matter with the owner & correct the attitude of the male employee working that shift, as they are very poor representatives for Sunoco.
Please correct this situation so that your customers can drive away safely, with clean windshields and better lighting from headlamps.

Clerk looked at me like I was an unsuitable bum and proudly proclaimed that they have no public restroom. I am a71 year old clean shaven, clean dressed conservative man who was polite. Why don't you have a public restroom. I patronized the business (and occasionally the restroom) when it was a Chevron but no more.ghls

How do I get someone to speak to me about falling on Sunoco property.

Posted by Anonymous

Your Sunoco representatives went out of their way to 1) Refuse to wait on this customer and, instead chose to take money thrust over my head from someone that did not wait in line. 2) Before this happened, I asked "do you have root beer"? I was met with a scowl and the reply "No speak English"...I had already heard English come from this person's mouth. Furthermore, I'd like to inform you that the management of this store absolutely refuses to keep the ramp entrance clear as per the Americans With Disabilities Act - ADA. The conduct exhibited by your Sunoco representatives is absolutely unacceptable each and every time I bother to patronize this establishment in the neighborhood I've lived in since 1964. I can assure you ANY response regarding it being franchise owned, etc and out of your jurisdiction will be just as unacceptable as the poor examples of Sunoco that are there each day conducting themselves as I've truthfully described. Your prompt contact to the management of this poor example of Sunoco located at West Oak Ridge Road, Orlando, Florida; and your contact back to me will be appreciated. And, May I add that the ADA access issue should be addressed immediately. If you don't - I will. BET on it.

The "Corporate Policy" of obtaining / requiring Social Security Numbers from anyone purchasing fuel from the Sunoco Stations smacks of consumer fraud. Anyone who falls gullible to these tactics should immediately report it to the regulatory agency of their state. and vote with their feet and buy from another fuel source

on several occasions while patronizing a sunoco on south howard ave. in south tampa fl a employee initials BJ, was and still is very rude to customers by attempting to belittle them whenever anything wasn't quite right to his liking He short changed me for a second time one day and I did not confront him because I saw there was long line but the irony is he thought I owed him a nickel and I said I will bring it to you later [forget all the change left on the counter by customers including myself] it is sometimes customary to offer customers a penny or even a nickel if there was change left on the counter for that very reason. He hollered out boldly "WELL YOU BETTER HURRY BACK" I came back and made him aware that HE owed ME and I was willing to let it go but when he thought I owed him he attempted to embarass me in front of the other customers. I witnessed him on another occasion whereas a woman was short a penny and he stood and watched her pat her pockets as she was probably trying to prompt him to give her a penny from the counter but he did not. Another customer gave her a penny. I frequent the store quite often and he makes degrading remarks about customers to other customers such as how many times they come into the store or how much silver change they gave him and how many lottery tickets they bought among other things. Some customers do not know who to complain to so I am telling this on behalf of them as well. Bottom line is how long can he get away with this?

This am I gassed up at the Sunoco station on 329 N. Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach, Fl. Paid for the gas with my debit card, which is like paying cash for my gas....when I turned on the pump, I was charged 10 cents more for my purchase. when I questioned the owner, he told me that he's charged the same fee for debit cards as charge cards. There was a customer waiting behind me listenning o our conversation. Even when I told he owner that other stations regard debit cards as cash to purchase gas & always give the lower price, he dis-agreed, was nasty. The waiting customer left because he, too, was going to use his debit card & thought it unfair practices....please respond. thank you...cg

At A plus station located on 1360 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres, FL - pump # on 04/12/2013 at 9:0 AM
I have a small Pontiac and it had ½ tank of gas. I want to fill it up to full capacity - which would be usually around $20.00. I parked at pump # 8, chose the Regular Unleaded fuel and then set up the latch to hold it up until the tank was full. I went back to inside of my car and then I noticed the sound of liquid spilling out and the strong smell of fuel. I ran to the pumper and unlatched it. It was over $35.00 dollars. I went to the store and reported the incident to the cashier. She went to the office and spoke to a man there. He did not come to talk to me. She then came back with a plastic cup and some water and told me to follow her outside. Before we left the store she told me - in a rude tone - that I might get a couple dollars back, but the pump has been working fine. We went out to the pump and she started it by squeezing the handle and then let it go and say "See it is fine, you place the pump in a wrong way and that is way it did not stop. And without letting me speak, she repeated that three times quickly in a row. I finally got the chance to tell her that has been holding the pump and let it go, but that was not how it happened. I used the latch to hold the pump. She then did the same way but would push the latch loose so it would stop pumping the gas. She did that a couple times very fast and once again, I mention to her that she was manipulating it. Of course it would stop like that. She kept saying it was my fault. I told her I have been putting gas in my car for many years, in many places and it never happened. I would not have that happen on purpose either. I also told her I am an honest person, and there was a mal function on the pump and it is not right for her to be manipulating the latch and the pump to prove I am the problem. But I also don't believe it is right for me to be charge when there was obvious a mechanical problem with the device. She went back to the office to talk the man there. Once again he came to the store but did not acknowledge me. She came back to me saying (this time in an ironic tone of voice) that the pump has been working fine until I went there, so why this only happened to me? I mentioned that it is ok that it was working properly before, but if a device breaks, it has to happen when someone is using it, and in this case it was me. She just kept repeating herself over again in front of other customers, which made feel very awkward. Customers that did not know what was going on were looking me like if I was a beggar. I am a professional person; I work hard and honestly for my money. I treat everyone with respect and dignity and I just want the same. I never raised my voice or been sarcastic with the cashier. It seems like the man in the office might be the manager (despite his manners) but I feel that it was his responsibility to approach me to solve this problem.
I am very upset about all this, not just for the money, but especially but the way I was treat. I hope more training regarding customer service will be provided to the staff in that location.

On 01/19/2013; I drove my 2003 Honda Accord from Chantilly - Virginia to New York City with my wife and a multiple handicapped daughter for attending a wedding. Like always; car drove nice without any issue though I got oil changed and inspection from local shop in Virginia prior to departure. I got full tank of gas from Sunoco in Chantilly - Virginia. I parked my car in NYC in our friends' house drive way for three days as they were taking us around in their own vehicles. On 01/22/2013; I drove my car from NYC without any problem to Sunoco #7007, Ml 30.2 South, NJTP, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 with same left over gas from Virginia. I got full tank of gas from Sunoco at NJTP using two prepaid gift cards of $25 each (total $42.75). After driving about ten miles; I felt losing power in my car as car engine started struggling. My wife asked me to take next exit to check the car. After exiting; I was fortunate to find a service station as I was not familiar with the area. The mechanic drove the vehicle around the block and asked me a question; when and from where I got last gas? I gave him answer; just about fifteen minutes before from Sunoco. Then he said; bad gas! He advised me to drive the car to burn the whole tank of gas. I was hardly able to make to my home destination in Virginia at night time with a patient of 'special needs'.

Next day morning of 01/23/2013; I tried to start my car to go to work; and car did not want to start. I had to tow (paid $125) my car to an auto shop in Sterling, VA for diagnosis. The tech checked the car with computer device (paid $60) and noticed ten different codes of malfunction. He told me; bad fuel caused the damage to the engine/censors and valves to hesitate and stumble as filter restricted the flow of fuel into car engine. Further he told me; due to bad fuel, engine was hesitating to start, stalling, very rough idle, reduced power and also with no start condition. Finally the tech was able to start the car and advised me to drive and burn the bad fuel.

Same day of 01/23/2013; I called Sunoco at 215-246-8769 and filed my complaint/claim with reference # 9687 254317893-4/452. I received a letter dated 01/31/2013 from ESIS (a third party) explaining me their investigating process of four weeks or more. They were expecting bad fuel sample from me; which they NEVER asked or advised me at the time of filing my complaint/claim on 01/23/2013. I called ESIS (third party on behalf of Sunoco) at 410-740-3996 and spoke to Tina Bornett. Instead servicing to my satisfaction; she declined/rejected my claim at the spot by saying; there was NO other claim from any other customer for this particular gas station. I feel; Tina did not like my follow up. Afterward; I received a note in the mail dated 02/01/2013.

I can see a clear disconnection as Sunoco/ESIS did not follow their investigating process as they explained to me in their first letter. Also they never asked me to save a bad fuel sample; when I called first time. ESIS called me on third day after filing my complaint. By that time; I added more gas to my car tank and it was too late to have bad fuel sample.

In order to bring back my car in safer drivable condition; initially I spent $221.75 to tune up the car and did not work out. Finally car engine died and I did not want to spend another $2,500 to get replaced dead engine with a used engine. Still it was not guaranteed; if the car would be in the same condition prior to getting bad gas from Sunoco, Cherry Hill, NJ. Finally decided to sell my car 'AS IS. condition to a local auto dealership and took a loss of $2,700 vs fair market price plus what I got. In order to go to work to keep my job and servicing my handicapped daughter's medical/personal and social needs; I had to be on rental car for three weeks and paid $319.74 as I do not have another car.

Now I have a replaced with another used car with additional debt of $8,500 on me. The hassle and stress especially with a mentally retarded/handicapped love one is immeasurable! Also to find a reliable and inexpensive used car is not a fun and I spent almost a month to find one.

Now I expect from Sunoco to reimburse me to cover my losses; a total amount of $3,468.74 - bad fuel $42.25, tow truck $125, initial diagnostic from TLC Automotive $60, tune up from International Automotive $221.75, rental car from Enterprise $319.74 and financial loss to sell my car 'AS IS' condition $2,700.

I am expecting Sunoco Corporate to settle my claim ASAP before I decide to consider other available options.

Thank you!

What follows are my emails to the Station Manager of the Sunoco Station located at 7640 Patterson Rd. Falls Church VA 22043. I have already contacted the BBB regarding this. I expect your company to address ths directly and pay for the replacement head lamp housing.

My 1st Message:

Mr. Currle,

I am certain you are somewhat aware of this situation but I will briefly review.

Several weeks ago I brought my vehicle in to have the passenger side head light bulb replaced, at the time it was decided to have both sides done as there was no point in just doing one. This was done quickly and efficiently and I was on my way.

A week and 1/2 later I noticed the front seal was not replaced properly and the light housing was full of condensation. I brought the car back in and a tech used a screw driver to pop it back in. I asked about the condensation as was told "well I don't know what you can do about that, hopefully it will clear up." This was NOT the same person who did the initial change.

I took my vehicle in to Jerry's Collision in Springfield, mainly because my passenger side door needs re-alignment but I also had them look at the light. I was told there would be no choice but to replace it because the seal was compromised the condensation build up would begin to cause the interior housing to fade and yellow. I received an estimate and returned to your station and asked for the part to be paid for, which is was an "after market" price of $174.00. I stated I only wanted the part to be paid for, I would even cover the labor.

The tech who did the original change asked for the opportunity to make it right, though he admitted what the collision center told me was true in that fading was likely to occur. I gave him the opportunity anyway as a kindness to him, I thought after all perhaps he could fix it. When I came back to pick up the vehicle the headlight looked the same inside. The tech said it looked much better right after he cleaned it out but to please give it some time before taking it in. He also told me he assumed responsibility for the issue as the backside seal was not re-installed properly and would pay for the part if things did not clear up.

I brought it back this morning because the issue remains. I explained I was planning on taking the car in to Jerry's Collision and have them install a new headlamp assembly while they were also fixing my door (which has nothing at all to do with your shop). The tech wanted to order the part and take care of it himself, my reply was I was fine with him ordering the part so he could avoid Jerry's mark up but I wanted them to do the work. Again I WOULD PAY FOR THE LABOR. Like all of us in this area I am extremely busy, I don't have time to drop off and pick up my car from two different locations, being in sales I am on the road often and I need my car.

I feel that I have very fair here and provided MORE than enough opportunity for your station to solve this issue. Frankly this has become a much larger problem than I ever expected just to get a light bulb changed out.

However, I will give your station one more chance before I take the next step and contact the Better Business Bureau. I would like you to order the replacement headlamp assembly and have it sent to Jerry's Collision Attn: Rebecca George, 6981 Industrial Rd. Springfield VA 22151. This is for a 2007 Pontiac G6 4D Sedan 4-2.4L-FI Engine. The part number on my estimate is 20821144 if that helps any.

Please respond and let me know if you will address this to my satisfaction. Given the hassle this has all been I really don't think I am asking for too much here. If I do not hear from your station by this time tomorrow I will move forward with my complaint with the BBB, I would expect you would be hearing from them shortly thereafter.

Thank you,

Eric Curtis

His Response Several Days Later:

Eric, it is our policy to correct any customer complaints in house. I certainly understand your busy schedule but to warranty the replaced part the installation must be performed by my shop. If you have further questions, I can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXX

My Reply:

Mr. Currle,

Thank you for your response. While I understand your policy I am not asking for your station to warranty the part, only to pay for it.

Whether that means your station calls in a corporate credit card to Jerry's Collision after they order the part at the price of $174, or it is purchased directly from one of your suppliers and shipped to Jerry's or myself so your station can avoid Jerry's mark-up. Either way, it's inconsequential to me as long as the issue gets resolved.

In either case my concern is not the warranty of the part. My largest concern frankly is how this situation has been handled and the quality of the work so far. At this stage I am simply not confident in the capability of your techs to get the new assembly install right.

Firstly, I can't even believe this situation is even happening because of a simple head light bulb change. I am by no means an expert mechanic but I imagine this is not too terribly complicated to get right. I am not trying to be insulting, we all have bad days, but the work was sloppy. Not only was the exterior rubber seal not properly handled but apparently the seal at the back of the light assembly which the tech told me caused the issue in the first place was not done correctly either.

Secondly the "service" I received the second time was a different tech coming out, looking at the exterior seal exposed from the assembly and then stabbing it back in place with a flat head screw driver. Then being told by him there wasn't anything he could do about the condensation build up, maybe it would go away. MAYBE? I make my living in the customer service industry, I know for a fact if I handled a situation like that I would have hell to pay from someone. That is lazy, but more-so it is total lack of concern for a customer who clearly has a problem.

I will give credit though to the tech when I came back a THIRD time because the condensation was still present. He was the one who originally changed the bulb. I explained by that time I had already gotten the assembly looked at by Jerry's and was told once the housing is compromised like that it needs to be replaced because fading will begin to occur inside of it. While he admitted this was true, he asked for a chance to try and correct it and I allowed it. After I came to pick up the car we looked at it together, despite his efforts the interior housing looked very much the same as when he started the process. He even admitted he was at fault and I have great respect for him doing so. He asked for me to please give it a week or so to see what happens, while I appreciate his trying I think we both knew it was not resolved. I gave it 10 days, there is still condensation in the housing and I already notice a fading effect inside light.

At this stage I am sure you will agree I have thus far followed your stations policy to handle customer complaints "in house". I provided ample opportunity for this to be addressed on three separate occasions and it simply has not been fixed. As the saying goes, "three strikes and you're out". I need to move on, I no longer have the confidence to allow you to do the work. After what I have already been through as a consumer that is my right, I am now protecting my property. I am sure the BBB and Sunoco's Corporate Headquarters will agree.

As I said, my career is based on providing the very best customer service I can. There is a sign at my desk that says "The customer is ALWAYS right" and while I admit there are times that is a hard policy to live by it remains true. I have been EXTREMLY patient through all of this but that is now wearing thin. I know how to get this resolved, I've witnessed it often enough. I have already begun the process and am prepared to move further.

The resolution is very simple. Jerry's Collision orders the part, your station calls in to them and pays for it. I am even paying them for the labor to fix it, I believe that is more than fair.

I have not yet gotten a response from him. It has been two days since I sent this last message. I will be contacting your Corporate Offices on Monday 1/28 and will continue to address this through various social media outlets until your company pays for this replacement part.

On 9/13/2012 my husband was on his way to N. C when he stopped mid-day to gas up at your Sunoco Station at Carney's Point, N.J. When he got to the pump a worker took his CC and filled his tank ( we were told tyhis is a full service station). When asking if my husband wanted a receipt, he said no, for whatever the reason but I imagine it was because he was ready to continue his 12 hours trek and didn't give it a second thought. Upon arriving home and checking his business account on 9/18 I noticed there was a $105.14 cent charge for a tank top off at the Carney Pt. station. My husband stated ,at best, he filled about 12 gallons in our Chevy Malibu that carries a 16 gal tank which would have cost him @$42.00. Sound about right?
On 9/18/2012 I tried to contact the manager at the Carney station and the phones were out of service, per a female manager at the Penn's grove station going North, and are of today as well. The party at the Penns Grove was kind enough to call the manger on duty to ask him to check his records for the $105.14 charge. A call back from this wonderful woman informed me the manger said he could find no such charge and asked for the last 4 digits of my husbands CC, which I gave her, an approximate time of day, which I also gave her so the matter could be investigated more thoroughly by the Carney manager.
In the meantime my CC company had confirmed that the purchase was a pump purchase alone.
Having not heard back from either the Carney station of the Penn Grove I proceeded to call Sunoco customer service and spoke with Devon who informed there was, indeed, a charge made to my husband account in the amount of $105.14 on the 13th of September 2012. And that my only option was to file a dispute with the CC company which I had already done.
Curiously, one might want to ask how a 16 gal. tank would take $105.14 worth of gas and why did the fellow that pumped the gas not realize , when he swiped the card and filled the tank that the amount was excessive for a Chevy Malibu. Actually for a Tahoe on empty as well.. We have been given a few scenarios and I can honestly say we are not happy with any of them
We have filed a dispute with our CC company, we have no paper receipt, the manager at the station at Carney's Point said he can't find a charge for $105.14 at this station on that day yet Sunoco customer service can find the exact amount purchased at that station , on that date, on my husbands card. I am livid.
Yes, the potential is there for error and yes it will be rectified...in Sunoco's benefit because we do not have a "paper" receipt to prove otherwise. And although common sense would seen to be the deciding factor here the $60 plus we're out certainly will not take precedence over more important issues will it?
I would like this matter to be looked into with serious consideration so that we may rectify this asap.
