May 2012 my sister and i booked a flight to L.A. and she got very ill and we had to cancel. She bought her ticket directly thru Virgin Airlines and unfortuantly i bought mine thru Expedia. Mind you we both purchased the trip insurance. When we canceled we were both given credits. I was told that i had a year to use my credit. Upon calling back to book a new flight im told my credit is no longer valid because the rep failed to tell me that the i needed to book and complete my trip before the day the ticket was issued per the airlines policy. Upon calling Virgin their policy is the ticket should be used prior to the date we canceled. Big problem Expedia says one thing but Virgin documents the right thing and Expedia doesnt want to honor it. I spent all day bascially on the phone being put on hold, hung up on, once they called back and didnt let the phone ring but one time and hung up, then the next rep told me that someone called me back and i sent the phone to voicemail. What a waste of time and money i will never in life or another life book anything with Expedia. They are lier and theifs! Please read this before you put any of your money into this company.
