Case: 29966211
TC-L42D2
MX01180169
Purchased: Apr 2, 2011
$967 at Best Buy

After extensive research, I bought my first flat screen. A Panasonic that I knew had reputation, quality, and longevity behind it. Nov 20, 12 the LCD panel (L5EDDAT0005) died and IAW with the tech, Panasonic no longer makes it. If they did, it would cost more than the TV itself ($1044).
I asked for "live Customer Service" help & they transferred me to Laurie Thomkinson, who was "indefinitely out of the office". Her voice mail referred me to Megan Murphy who I called on 12/28/12, who has not returned any of my phone calls.

The bottom line: A television from a major long-standing reputable company should last more than 1 yr 7 mos and 18 days regardless of the product warranty. My prior tube TV lasted me 27 yrs without any servicing whatsoever & through 7 military moves. I seek some credit to purchase another Panasonic 46" flat screen before I research another name brand.

Thank you for this outlet when voicemails don't seem to result in any action.
