I took my Pontiac Firebird to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, the manager said that the car was a little low but they still pulled it up on the ramp. The car has not been lowered in any way, shape, or form, it's just straight out of the factory. The car went up on the ramp just fine and they changed the oil. When pulling the car off the ramp the guy did not slowly pull off, but sped off like he was on a drag strip. Immediately it tore the muffler and exhaust off of the car.
I talked to the manager and he tried to say my son insisted they change the oil, not knowing I was sitting in another car waiting on my son. I observed the entire thing and the manager accepted responsibility and said they would take care of it. I got an estimate and faxed it to Scott in Raleigh, N.C. He said that he did not receive it, so it was faxed again. We did not hear anything from him, so my son called and Scott told him they would only pay half of the repair bill. I in turn called him and said that was not acceptable and he insisted that it was an company agreement. I requested to talk with his supervisor Ryan. What a conversation that was. He told me the same thing as Scott and I said that was not kosher with me. He replied I don't know what that means, then I told him not acceptable. I continue by asking for his supervisors name and he said that he was not allowed to give out that information, so I said who is the big will over the company. Once again he replied I don't know what that means. I then told him to quit a ting ignorant and give me the president or CEO's name. He would not do that either and told me either I take half or none of the money.
I guess he thought I was the ignorant fool, but I said you can send the half, but I will get the rest. He admitted they were responsible just as Scott had, but yet did not want to pay up. I am in the process of calling headquarters of Jiffy Lube and getting in touch with the president of the company. I did inform Ryan that I would contact the newspaper, t.v station and the BBB regarding this situation. He said he understood, which made no logical sense to me to why he would agree. How he got this job I have no idea, but I intend to follow through on my promises to him regarding payment, even if I have to take them to court.
Needless to say our cars will never be carried to Jiffy Lube again. If it was too low they should have never serviced or said they could service the car. My advice to everyone is stay away from their business or you could have problems you would never encounter otherwise.
