I recently started a case with Toyota regarding the 2004 Tacoma of which I am the original owner. The case number is 1409051455. After failing inspection because of excessive frame corrosion, I took the recommendation of my mechanic and contacted Toyota customer service to rectify the situation. After speaking to Jeffery Moore of Toyota on the phone several times he told me that there is literally nothing Toyota can offer me regarding a solution. I have contacted the attorney general's office in both the state in which I live as well as the state in which the vehicle was purchased and additionally the FTC and NHTSA. I paid cash for this vehicle, never received any communication about a safety recall, and never received notification of this issue before or after any dealer service. I can't drive my truck, I can't sell it, I can't trade it in because of the frame. As someone who has now owned 3 Toyota vehicles, and recommended them to others, I am frustrated and not willing to settle for anything less than fair compensation. I'm willing to pursue any available avenue to arrive at an amicable solution, and sincerely hope Toyota is willing to reassess it's seemingly cursory conclusion and do the same. Otherwise, Toyota has just screwed me out of $23,000.
