I rented an avis/budget car at the jax airport location on Oct 29,2014. I had a budget online reservation for 5 days with budget for $182.00. At the airport they changed my reservation to avis without my knowledge and when I noticed they assured me that it was the same company and they would honor the rate but that I needed to call customer service the next day. What a disaster. Every representative I spoke to assured me that the original rate would be honored until it wasn't honored! Trying to get the charges reversed was futile. I was charged $696.00! This put the credit card over the limit by several hundred dollars and my account was closed. Some of the money is supposedly being credited back but I have yet to see any evidence of this. The worst part is that the reps I spoke with today acted as if I was a bother and was just wasting their time. I asked to have a manager call me back and I was a supervisor threatened to remove the credited amount. Nice company huh? Should have stuck with enterprise. I work on a small cruise ship and between guests and crew we rent a lot of cars. It may not cost them much but it will make me feel a whole lot better! If anyone from the company reads this and you want to fix it my case number is 14175526. Don't worry, after this week I'm not expecting that simple courtesy from avis.
