As of Friday, June 12, the Centers for Disease Control issued new nationwide guidelines, recommending that everyone wear a mask in public. This is in addition to social distancing, hand washing, disinfecting, etc. As you are aware, ever since Texas 'reopened,' our Coronavirus cases have been on the increase. One major hospital system in Houston has said their isolation capacity is at 80%. I am writing to ask you to consider requiring all customers to wear a mask in HEB stores, until such time as Texas' Coronavirus infection rate is significantly reduced. I recently posted a poll question on our local Next Door neighborhood site, asking members (about 25,000 strong) if they would give shopping preference to stores requiring customers to wear a mask. And the results? Over 60% said they would. Only 30% said they didn't care! I believe you would actually see an increase in the number of shoppers coming into your store if you required the wearing of masks. Personally, I always wear one. I am writing this same message to Kroger, Aldi and Sprouts management. The stores that have the courage and responsibility to require masks will get my business for life! Thank you.
