I purchased a ticket for my 19 year old son leaving from Pittsburg PA going to Bellingham WA His bus was to leave the Pittsburg station at 1:55am on the 5th of January 2024 in to which it was delayed and didn't leave until 2:40am he then had a lay over in St. Louis and then in Las Vegas in the trip between St. Louis and Las Vegas for some reason the bus was delayed and took forever getting out of Denver Colorado which made him delayed to get to Las Vegas and catch his connecting bus to Las Angeles so we then contacted customer Service and they said he would have to reschedule but there wasn't another bus leaving Las Vegas for 2 days later after being very floored at this happening we had no other choice but to reschedule then after finding out that the station was going to close at midnight until the next morning leaving my son outside all night in a city he didn't know with little money went to the front counter to see if there was any way he could get accommitdated for a hotel room like customer service said he would but needed to do it with a Supervisor they told him they no longer do this so we pleased with the Man at the counter to please see if there was another bus coming in to at least get him to Las Angeles luckly my son hopped a ride on the bus he wasn't suposed to be on only because there was a seat available now my son is in Las Angeles mind you this whole time he is trying to get to a very important college Program he was starting that coming Monday the 8th. Now he's stuck in Las Angeles they also tell him the station is going to close and he will be stuck outside he pleaded with the Man at the counter named Gilbert as did I via phone to please see what he could do to get him a seat on the bus going to his next lay over to Sacramento and luckly the bus did have a seat so he was able to get to Sacramento now once in Sacramento he was let off in the middle of the night with the station not opened now mind you all this bus hopping so he could make it to his program if he didn't do this he would have still been stuck in Las Vegas until Tuesday the 9th when he was suposed to be in Bellingham Wa on Monday the 8th so from there finding out that Greyhound would be no help in getting him on a sooner bus I had to purchase 2 more tickets one to get him form Sacramento to Portaland OR and one from Portland OR to Bellingham WA so after arriving in Portand OR Greyhound dropped him off at 11:45 at night in a bus termanil garage and nothing was open his connecting bus wasn't leaving until 7am the next morning with nothing around open no hotels no nothing my 19 year old son had to stay outside all night for 8 hours in the cold and rain finally morning comes and while waiting for his bus from Portland to Bellingham he was informed 20 minutes prior to this bus that it had been cancelled and the next bus wouldn't be coming until the next day he has now been travelling for 4 days bus hopping because they let him and stuck in the cold at night so after him and me having a melt down we seen that there was an amtrak accross the street and luckly they had tickets for that late morning going to bellingham WA. All my son was trying to do was get from Pittsburg PA to Bellingham WA to start his life with a very important college program that he was late for a day and a half late for this was his first time traveling. After contacting Customer Service and filling out the complaint and refund form I have been told there is nothing Greyhound will do about this delay that caused this whole thing and had him stuck in Las Vegas for 2 days because the bus was late coming in and made him miss his connecting bus. They keep trying to say that the rescheduled ticket had no mishaps I keep telling them that's not the ticket in question it's the initial ticket I purchased that had the delay not the rescheduled on the rescheduled one had him waiting 2 days the initial ticket was the one that was delayed in which made him reschedule and I want a refund on the initial ticket not the rescheduled one. This situation is so obsured and wrong and it's unaccebtable what Greyhound does to people this shouldn't be legal to leave people stranded in cities they don't know for days while stations are closed all night long and to have delays for days and not to compensate the traveler anything and then to keep making excuses why they can't give a refund this is not right and Greyhound needs to be help accountable.
