Original Comment In May of this year my husband and I took our 1st cruise on Holland America (Westerdam) to Alaska. We have been on many cruises prior to this, but never on Holland America Line. Unfortunately, our cruise was terrible. The food and service left a lot to be desired. On Mothers Day our entire table waited 50 minutes to get served and then the food was cold and had to be sent back. The majority of the servers and staff did not speak english and were not of any help. Our cabin had a balcony but the partition was loose and made constant noise---it took 3 days and several complaints to have someone come and tighten a bolt!!! Of all the cruise lines we have ever traveled Holland America would get the lowest rating. Never an apology or offer to help. Nothing. I thought it was suppose to be a really good, high quality cruise line. Absolutely not and absolutely my last cruise on this line
