This is to inform you that I am VERY disappointed in your technical support for a Linksys product I purchased. It seems that Linksys is unwilling to support products that it sells, Linksys products that are currently listed on its website <br /> <br /> http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/storage/NSLU2<br /> <br /> and Linksys products that are currently for sale in its distribution network. Indeed, I was blown off in a callback where Linksys had promised to call me back when support would be available. At that time I was not informed about a fee being charged. Then When I had to call back Linksys again, I was confronted with the request for additional payment for a product that is currently for sale and in the stores. I even asked for a single complimentary support session as I had just recently gotten this product. I was denied. This is a bait and switch and as such is quite illegal.<br /> <br /> I have no idea of how Linksys stays in business with its customer and technical service model. It seems that once a product is purchased from Linksys that the first order of business is to deny responsibility for its product line saying that it is no longer produced and to try to blackmail people into paying for service of newly purchased Linksys products. I will be sure to pass the word along about the lousy customer support and the bait and switch tactics that Linksys employs in its attempt to extort money out of its customers.<br /> <br /> I have a recently purchased Network Storage Link NSLU2 that I can not get to configure on my network. I followed all the directions to the best of my ability and called for customer support as a last resort as I know how busy tech support can be. I try to run the software but it does not install.<br /> <br /> I happen to work in technology and am quite versed in such issues and in communication with others in this vast field. Rest assured that I will be communicating the facts of this incident with them and with appropriate governmental consumer legislative organizations.
