First, of all I would like to say thank you to all HEB employees making it to work and helping me being able to feed my family. The reasons why I'm commenting today on this page is because I would like to share my experience at my local HEB. My husband had sent me a last minute text to please pick up a few things for dinner Because we literally had some frozen fries, spaghetti sauce, and a pack of rice for dinner. Here it is 7:49 I'm walking in to HEB because I worked all day, I'm not one of the lucky ones that get to stay safe in their homes and be with their family, I'm a healthcare worker just trying to hold up my ethical obligation to continue to see people in need of care and I had 3 kids very tall young men, and 2 ladies yelling at me, "THE STORE IS CLOSED, THE STORE IS CLOSED" waving me back out of the automatic doors to leave and then I looked down at my phone seen 2 other people just walk in without anything being said so I followed I mean I already had my cart I hand so in did what needed to do to feed my family. I started at the produce aisle which was fully stocked, and again thank you so much for being dependable and providing me with the freshest fruit! Then I started to where the meat case is and the meat was all put up, fine I will just go get meat from the aisle, I did I got a pack of the fajita meat that's already seasoned put it in my cart, and as I started to get some chips all I heard was Spanish and screaming on the over head speaker, which is quite unnerving and I felt so uncomfortable shopping, after I gathered my items and got so many dirty looks from the employees because of course it was closing time, I got to the check out line right at 8:01 and was very disappointed to find out that pack of fajita meat didn't have a price on it and the cashier had said she was unable to sell it to me because there wasn't anyone in the area where the meat was, okay fine! Then I noticed their wasn't a bagger with my cashier so I had start bagging my own groceries and then I looked the lane next to me had a bagger and Belia and 2 other managers past my line screaming out orders for the other employees to finish and after 1/2 my groceries were bagged finally I got a bagger. I was just hoping that you can please take the healthcare workers in to consideration and with leave the last 30 minutes before close or stay open and extra. 30 minutes with the whole purpose of letting us get the things we need to feed our families. It would be greatly appreciated.
