Original Comment I was a POD on my brothers checking account when he died at the end of July. Was told they would need copy of death certificate. Provided within a week. Wanted to stop all activity before auto-pays went out at first of the month. Was then told they would need abstract affidavit. Auto-pays continued, auto deposits (pension and SS) continued. Was told I was not authorized to receive any information. Still waiting for account to be closed. I get a letter directed to my deceased brother dated Feb.3rd stating account is $891.76 overdrawn. They don't want to damage his credit. WOW!
