Original Comment I am a 64 year old long time member of Gold's Gym in Montgomery, Alabama. I havn't visited the gym since November 2013. I was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and I'm undergoing chemo and radiation treatments. In mid January 2014 I realized I hadn't cancelled my membership at Gold's Gym. I went in and filled out the paperwork and was told there is a 30 day charge before official cancellation so they would be taking out two more payments (I pay every 2 weeks) before they stop charging my credit card. I told them I hadn't used it in a while and becuase of lung cancer I can't use it in the future. They said to put that reason down on the form for cancellation and maybe corprate would give me a break. Well corporate didn't and I found out they they charged my credit card for another 30 days. Gold's Gym is a money hungry, greedy business that squezzes the last penny out of people. They have no compassion or humnanity when it comes to money. When I beat the cancer I will not join Gold's gym. I am also writing letters to the editor etc. letting the people know how greedy Golds Gym is.
