For the past 10 days my wife has been recovering from a drug reaction caused by a generic medication that Express Scripts randomly changed. Why?!? because they can. There are no motivations to benefit the customer what so ever. There was no advance notice, no communication. The generic just shows up at the house. <br /> <br /> My wife took two doses (two pills) and ended up with a rash and hives over her whole body. Lesions in her mouth and throat. She has not been able to eat for the past 5 days because her mouth is too sore.<br /> <br /> The effort by Express Scripts to save themselves a couple of dollars has cost us three trips to the doctor, multiple prescriptions to soothe my wifes discomfort and...additional costs to United Healthcare. What was really accomplished here? They have added costs not to themselves, but to the customer. They have total disregard to the results of randomly substituting medications at whim. They hide behind a massive bureaucratic cloak of zero responsibility. And ultimately they have really pissed me off. The pain, suffering and discomfort that my wife has had to endure is inexcusable. This is what's wrong with the healthcare policies within this country.
