I am just about ready to crossover from Mediacom. I have been have trouble with the DVR's. The recent problem is when the unit is first turned on it will boot up and you may or may not receive a picture. If you do receive a picture it is about 12&quot; square in the upper right corner of your TV. If I unplug the DVR and plug it back in it will reboot and then the picture will appear normal. I have done this for approximately one month and I was tired of doing it, so I call it in. A technician was to come 8 Sept 2014 to fix the problem. Well he called me and said he was having trouble finding a box (DVR). Then he showed up and the first box he brought in would not even come on. So he went out to his truck and fetched another one and it came on and seem to work fine. Today it came on stuck on channel 1 and would not respond to the remote. I called Mediacom Tech Control and they tried to reset the box but it would not respond. I hope you understand how frustrating this is. This is not the first time I have had problems with the DVR Boxes.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I believe the problem lies within the Mediacom Service Dept. Instead of repairing the boxes they just send them out to another customer and I end up getting that customers complaint and the customer who gets my box ends up with the same complaint I had. The box they took out of my house is waiting for another customer and never gets repaired. If it does go to the service shop for repair and the technician puts it on the bench and cannot duplicate the problem, I can assure you someone else it going to get that box and end up with the same problem I was having. This may sound like speculation but from my view this is what's happening.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> So, Mediacom what about investing in some new DVR Boxes or have the broken ones repaired. I am scheduled to have a technician come out 11 Sept 2014 to pick up this box because they can not do any repairs in the field. If the present practice continues this box will no doubt be passed on to another customer with the same problem I'm having and I'll probably get a box with a different set of problems. It keeps the technicians busy but it's bad for business and most of all it is bad for the customer.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> If this swap out on 11 Sept 2014 is bad I will consider seriously about changing ISP'S.
