Buyer Beware - Canton, IL Kmart ripping people off at their going out of business sale. First of all, they don't allow you to see whether or not the items are ringing up correctly and then when they don't, you can't return it and you can't get your money back! I had this happen early in the sale and even though I paid cash, they would not refund me the difference for the incorrect discount, I had to take a gift card for $5.60, which I lost before I ever got to use it. Now, like a damn fool, I went back again. As I walked through the aisles, I was astonished at the inflated prices that had been placed on things, but, did find a couple things that were a decent deal. Two floor mats for my vehicle, marked $11.99, sign said 50% off and they rang up $7.94 - you do the math. A food item that was marked as 75 cents with a 25% discount - rang up for $1.12, that's 49% higher than the ticket price. So, off I go to the service counter, where the clerk argues the posted discount on the car mats, so, I said okay, if they were 40% off, it's still wrong - they should have been $7.20 not $7.94. At that point, I decided that the Kmart corporation needed the money more than I needed the aggravation. In two visits to this BIG SALE, they ripped me off for over $10. Now, that's not make or break, but, I wouldn't have bought the items if not for the supposed discount and you multiply $10 by the number of people that have probably been ripped off and Hell, by the time they are done, they might not even have to go out of business. If there are any Kmart stores left open in the country, I won't be shopping at them.
