I went in Firestone for an oil change, when given the bill I was given a list of various things I should attend to with my car. It was an hour to closing, no mention was given to actually fix any of the problems. Assuming all the fluids had been taken care of, and knowing the temperature would be in the 20's that night, I felt as though my car was in great shape. There was no mention that my coolant was not topped off. My car started getting hot on the way home, I turned on the heater and it cooled off. The next time I drove it it started getting hot again, I remembered that I had replaced the thermostatt just last year. My son suggested we check the coolant, it was not visible. Fortunately, I had some at the house. I called to bring this to the attention of the owner, was given the manager and he told me that was their policy not to replace the coolant if there is a leak. I told him I thought that was irresponsible to let me drive off without telling me the fluid had not been replaced. <br /> Naturally, I have always had the fluids replaced when I had an oil change, how would I know they didn't do it.
