Original Comment On 12/23/14, I Went Into Kmart In Lakeland, Florida To Purchase 5 Small Items. The Lines Were Extremely Long So , I Went To The Jewelry Counter To Check Out. The Lady In Front Of Me Check Out With A Purchase Of A Foot Spa & 2 Glade Candles. When It Was My Turn To Check Out , The Cashier Told Me That I Would Have To Go To Electronics Because They Could Only Check Out Jewelry Items. I Had 3 $5 Dvd's A Toy Truck & A Doll. The Customer Service Is Very Poor In Kmart , One Would Think That With Kmarts All Across The Country Closing For Good , They Would Take Money At Any Register. When It Went To Electronics, Another Customer & I Were Having A Conversation About What Happened When A White Male Customer Said To Me " Shut Up, I'm Tired Of Hearing Your Mouth , You're Just Like Your Entire Race". Employees Came To Me Telling Me That I Couldn't Use Profanity In The Store However, They Never Said Anything To The Man About The Comment That Was Offensive To Me. This Entire Episode Could Have Been Avoided If The Store Had A Sign Saying Only Jewelry Can Be Checked Out Then , I Wouldn't Have Spent 30 Minutes In A Line To Get No Service! Also No Employee Should Tell A Customer How To Speak As Long As The Customer Is Not Loud , Threatening , Or Causing A Disturbance. Also If Only Jewelry Can Be Rang Out In That Department , A Foot Spa & Candles Are Not! I Will Never Shop In Kmart Again, And Will Be Glad When That Store Is Closed Again Because It Has Been Before! That Store Was Turned Into Sears Essentials , Then Back To Kmart! They Have Poor Customer Service! The Manager Tried To Deter Me From Contacting Corporate By Saying " Well , You Know This Is Going To Come Back To Me. Also Another Female Customer (white) Got Involved Saying Her Son ( Who Appeared To Be About 14) Didn't Need To Hear Profanity But Amazingly Had No Problem With Racist Remarks Being Made! All Kmarts Should Be Closed! I Will Never Shop There Again! In Walmart You Can Check Out In Jewelry With A Ham If You Want!
