Purchased an LG microwave smart inverter in 2019 for $240 it broke/stopped working within the one year manufacturers warranty. Called, went through trouble shooting which did not resolve and was sent a link to upload proof of purchase and photos. Received an email today saying,

1. Purchase a new LG Microwave product from an authorized retailer within the next ninety (90) days.
2. Remove all of the manufacturer's model/serial number label(s) from the back of the old unit, tear/cut in half, and affix each half separately to this letter below.
3. Please upload a copy of this signed letter along with torn labels to the link provided.
Once we have received your letter with the copy of the new unit's receipt and attached label(s), we will validate/process your claim and issue a check. Please allow a processing time of 2-4 weeks from our receipt of the above items.
LG is committed to exceeding the expectations of our customers and once again we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced while your LG product was out of service.

Explain please why I need to purchase another LG microwave for $230 to be reimbursed $230 from the initial broken one. $230 (2019 purchased) + $230 (new microwave) = $460 and I will be reimbursed $230. This is not a warranty!! It is a scam.
