I don't even shop at Sports Authority that much, but I had to go in two times last couple weeks. First time I went in, I noticed some workers are walking around in groups talking among themselves not caring whether customers might need help. When I finally got help, he wasn't being very helpful and was just eager to go away. Then I got to a cashier, she didn't even say thank you and when I said thank you, she says "uhuh".
Today, I went back to return something and then a girl and a guy were talking and I interrupted them. I asked if I can get back the cash I paid and the rest in gift card. She then asks the guy and he says yes. She proceeds and hands me cash with some loose change and bunch of receipts all together not saying anything. So I said which one is the store credit and she says she gave me all in cash. Both times these cashiers did not know how to say thank you to their customers. Sports Authority should train their employees better by training them to be courteous to the customers and be helpful to them, not just socialize among themselves.

4/7/13 purchased $1200 elliptical at Honolulu Sports Authority. Took over 1week for delivery as driver didn't want to come sooner with excuses about traffic. Driver assembled a broken machine, then refuse to disassemble and take back, said I have to call store next day to reorder. Took 3 weeks of 17 telephone complaints by me to 3 different Sports Authority managers with empty apologies and no action (even going to store face to face was useless), complaining to 3 Urban Express reps in New York, 4 delivery men, and 4 cancellations of scheduled delivery dates on Urban Express' part. Lots of finger pointing between the Sports A. and Urban Express, giving me excuses about firing/hiring local delivery men. Frankly, that's not my concern as a paying customer to SPORT AUTHORITY. I purchased from your store, it's your responsibility to make sure I recieve my product I paid for in a timely manner. I should not have had to waste my time chasing after your employees and incompetent delivery service. I've had to cancel my personal plans time and time again to accomodate your delivery men only to have them cancel on me day of. I am disgusted that your company did nothing to take action with those delivery people after numerous complaints to your managers. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a merchandise and delivery service ever. I expect to hear back with a refund on the assembly fee I paid for. I have also documented each date, phone calls, and names of the employees of both your store, Urban Express and delivery men whom I dealt with within the past 3 weeks.

Camarillo Sports Authority is the worst customer handled situation I have ever experienced in my life. I went in with 12 dollars on a gift card. I am an avid Mountain biker and saw a 34.00 light and rear tail light comboIto. It had a marked down sticker to, 19.99 so hey, that's a pretty good deal. So I picked it up and went to pay for it. The girl rang it up she said "That'll be 36.99 " I said what it said 1999 over there. She had already slid my gift card. Then she called the manager who went over to look and began messing with the display for about five minutes. Seemed to be changing it to the 34., price. She then said, "nope it says 34.99." I said that's not what it said a second ago." The management said it does now." Issue okay then I don't want it. The girl at the register said "I've already slid the card" I waited another 30 minutes for them to figure out how to put 12 dollars back on my card. So I said "keep the card I just will never shop here again." And walked out spent 12 dollars in gas and went to Sport Chalet where the were squared away. They even said I should have brought the card to them. They would have honored it just to treat me how a customer should be treated. I am an avid sportsman and worked in retail mgment myself for 10 years. I will never go back to this company again. Especially the Camarillo California store.

I work for Sports Authority as a middle Man for a Company that puts together your equipment and I also have cleaned these stores and when I write this story i honestly can say as all the rest of these unfortunate people that your company needs a undercover boss to clean house and train on customer service professionalism and not a bunch of robots and attitude busters,Your managers in Jensen beach florida are the rudest most discourteous sales managers and associates and in Jupiter fl Craig you nasty little punk I'm the wife of the gentleman that you so called told if you don"t like it get another job when it was for a sale to a customer waiting on a delivery? Who the hell do you think you are, a crappy negative punk that is underpaid no my husband is to put this crap together for this disconcerning company I lived in colorado and i see the reviews from there whats wrong with this company I wish there were more dick sporting goods cuz you give them a good name by how you behave and take care of these multimillion dollar stores shame on all of you !!!!!!

Today will be the last day that I ever walk into a Sports Authority, which is a store I use to go to for all my sporting needs. While at Sports Authority in Clackamas, OR, my husband, son and I were in the golfing section looking at golf clubs for my son. While waiting for someone to help us find some clubs for my son we were trying putters out on the putting green. Which is where people are suppose to be able to try out putters, or so we thought. While giving my son a try as we were still waiting for an employee to help us. After a while an employee finally walked through the golfing area, instead of asking if we needed help he walked into the back and then came right back out and said he needed to take the golf balls because no one is over in this section working and took the balls and walked away. As we stood there speachless he walked back to the front and never once asked us if we needed help. I have never been treated so poorly in a store before. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, but I know that my family will no longer be shopping at any Sports Authoritys.

We were passing through California and stopped at your store in Claremont I believe it was the nicest store we have been into and the people there were great not too mention the Manager whose name we caught as Debbie, she was great helped us with things we needed for our camping trip and assured us we were in good hands. It is not often you find a manager these days that is so helpful and knowledgeable and polite. We could not get over that store.
A real asset to our company the store and manager.

I moved from Oakland, NJ to Sherburne NY and was not happy with the gyms in the area. We had a membership at Golds and could not find a comparison, so we decided to buy the equipment and set up a home gym. We researched different retailers and decided to purchase the gym with the Smith machine , weight set, dumbbell set with additional weights and attachments which amounted to $1865. We were so excited when it was finally set up bu to my dismay and disbelieve i recently nnoticed one of the 10lb weights and cracked around the middle and the weld around the curling bar has broke. You can look at the curling bar and can the grip is fresh and not rubbed out. So i figured it will not be a problem because weights should not break and thought it would be an easy exchange. It was a big problem because I was told my time is up and nothing can be done, i understand time restraints on returnable items but these are not clothes or electronics and i think there should of been an exception or even a percentage off of new equipment. I know i am only one customer in millions and your corporation could not care less but i thought i should write you and let you know that you have one less customer who has two inferior pieces of equipment and an incomplete gym. I used to frequent your store because I am a weight lifting enthusiast as well as my group of friends but i will share my experience with them and no longer shop Sports Authority(the authority in bad customer service

I have been a customer of Sports Authority for years in South East Florida. I moved to South West Florida about 2 years ago.

As a result of moving to the West coast of Florida, I have purchased less and less from Sports Authority. I am 6'6" 250lbs (athletic build) and wear a size 14 shoe. It is almost impossible at times to find anything my size especially in shoes. Ironically, TJ Max and Marshalls usually have a better selection for me.

What I am most disappointed about with Sports Authority is their lack of support for local teams. For example, I am a huge Miami Heat fan, but unfortunately while the Heat were in the NBA finals I couldn't find so much as a T-shirt at Sports Authority. I spoke to a store manager and he informed me that they do not carry anything for the Miami Heat. Unbelievable! I ended up buying Miami Heat shirts at Kohls! They are not even a sporting goods store!

Most recently and worse yet, I couldn't even find a team USA T-shirt or a T-shirt with an American flag on it to show my support for our Olympic team. SAD!!

As a result, Sports Authority is now the last place I shop when it comes to my sporting good needs.

At aprox 945 AM I entered Sport Authority in Fullerton California. I had a return for 1 pair of gloves. I had the receipt, orig packaging, and item. I approched the counter with 3 empoloyees said "said hi good moring" no reponse from any employees. All 3 looking at the origional bag in my hand. I asked for a refund or store credit. This item was used once and is with in 30 days. Emplyee turned around wispered to her manager. The manager told me she can not refund my item becaused I used the gloves. I said I had to use them once to know they did not work as good as the older model did. She said she could not resale the item because I had used them. I said I will seek a refund through my credit card disputed center. As I was walking a way she asked why I wanted a refund. I replyed if your'e not giving me a refund why did shen need to know? I got to the door and the 3rd employee behind the counter yelled " YOU HAVE A NICE DAY SIR" at the top of his voice. I turned around to find all 3 emplyees laughing. I feel I was treated like a criminal for trying to return an item with in the 30 period while having the origional receipt and bag. I will never shop at your'e store and advise others not too also. I don't care I you give items away. The last store who treated me half this bad was Mogomery Wards and they went out of business shortly afterwords. If this is the way you treat your'e customers start looking for another job because Sport Authority will not last long.
