I test drove the 2015 Mazdas 3, 6, & CX-5 and except for the 6, they DO NOT have a rubber wear pad over the left foot rest. How incredibly cheap can Mazda be for $30,000 cars to not have a rubber wear pad? I am the original owner of a 2003 Protege and the wear pad is still in good shape but the carpet to the side of it is worn through. I am sure that these new unprotected foot rests will be worn through in a few years. It can't believe it is a Sky-active attempt to reduce weight and I can't imagine any other reason for this decision. As silly as this may sound, a lack of quality this small May very we'll be a deal-breaker for me.
