Original Comment Why did Sam's Club stop allowing customers to run their Visa Debit cards as credit?<br /> <br /> I have been able to use my Visa Debit card as a credit for several years now at Sam's Club in Flagstaff Arizona but recently, they changed out their registers and card reader machines and now I can't run my card as a credit. One manager said they do allow Visa Debit cards to be run as credit cards but after he said that, it happened again and the other manager said they never allowed Visa cards. <br /> <br /> After the Target and Home Depot hacks, my credit union re-issued new Visa Debit cards to all members and told us to always run them as credit because that way, hackers only get the card number, not the card number and pin. Having only the card number means hackers have a harder time using the card and if they do use it, Visa won't make us pay for those transactions. This is a protection for us as consumers.<br /> <br /> If Walmart company and Sam's Club are unwilling to allow us to run our Visa Debit cards as credit for our own security; we may just have to shop somewhere else. <br /> <br /> Change the Sam's Club in Flagstaff back to the way it was; customers need to know Walmart company and Sam's Club value not only our business but our security as well.
