Original Comment I went in to buy my wife a Subaru outback. SHe loves them and wanted one. We researched them well on line, and I talked to several people that own one, and read even more on line. My main problem is this. I know what she wants, the color the add ones etc. It is not available now, as there isn't time to order one and get it before you shut down for the 2017 model. There is one we could get, but it is loaded with"junk" things as far as we are concerned. Things we don't want, and would never use, but it is the only way we could get it. It is almost $1,000 more than what we are wanting to pay. I am paying cash for the Outback, and it isn't cheap, it is great, I just hate paying $almost 1,000 for for a popular package number 5 especially since it has never been shown on the internet or when I called and spoke with sales people. It is slipped in on me, and I feel like I am getting taken advantage of having to pay for what I really don't want or won't use. It is the same way with the Moon roof. My wife and I are in our early 70s, we are not going off road, or sporting with this vehicle. It is fantastic for people our age as it is so easy to get in and out of, and the safety accessories are super. But you make us buy Moon Roof no matter what we get, other than the cheapest model. Why? Also WHy is every one putting in Black carpet and so much black interiors. We live in the south and it just make the car into an OVEN and turns it in to HELL to get into. We are getting the Ivory interior, but there is still soooo much black. It is almost a purchase breaker. SO if we hold off until next year, and have to pay over $1,000 more so we don't get things we want that cost about the same price, we are just not happy. I put money down to hold this vehicle until it comes in but I am about to cancel it and go elsewhere. I can afford it, but I have been frugal most of my life so I could buy a car when I needed it and still afford to live in a nice home and take care of our medical expenses. I am not poor but I am not cash wealthy either so $1,000 cash is important to us. Now if we could have cut back on Moon roof and things like this Popular Package Package #5. I would be thrilled. So what do we do? There aren't any more Tungsten Color Limiteds around that fit the bill. I guess we will just have to look at all options but this is really what we wanted.
