I have been a customer with 53rd for over 10 years. Prior to today I loved 53rd. And I can honestly say today I am extremely disappointed and looking for a new bank. The hardship that they caused me today is unforgiving. Even after speaking to three supervisors they were unable to resolve the issue after admitting there seems to be a problem on their end. But yet there was absolutely no resolution offered other then "sorry".

I have utilized mobile deposits for 3 years with my payroll check. I have never had a issue. My check had never had a hold. I made two check deposits yesterday $1800 and $200. The $1800 check was placed in hold status. I was never told this. I was told today by 3 supervisors there was absolutely nothing they could do and it would be released on the 12/16/2022. Even after explaining how much of a hardship this was creating I was given the response "sorry". I asked if I could possibly get a partial credit and was told no. I could understand the hold if this was a new account. But I have made this deposit monthly for 3 years using the mobile app. I work hard for my little monthly paycheck while caring for my elderly mother 4 days a week.
Hardship created by fifth third:
1. I can't pay for gas Thursday and Friday for work. Therefore I can't work
2. I can't pay for gas or groceries for Saturday-Tuesday. I have to travel 3 hours to care for my mother on those day her home health nurse is scheduled off.
3. I can't pay for my bills that are already scheduled this week.

I understand this hardship doesn't seem like much but to me and my mother this is major. If I had known the hold would be placed I would have never made that deposit. And was told the deposit could not be canceled. If it was canceled I could open a new account at another bank and have access to my funds (Wells Fargo has verified the funds).
I needs my funds released. I just don't understand how this bank can be so unfair to loyal customers.
